
NEW ORLEANS – A pair of District 9 alums participating in track & field at Penn State Behrend have been honored as 2017 United States Track & Field and Cross Country (USTFCCA) All-Region performers.
North Clarion graduate Mitch Obenrader is all-region in the shot put, while Brookville graduate Dylan Buffington is all-region in the 800-meter run.
To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team.
Obenrader is fifth in the nation in the shot put. He holds the school record at 17.13m (56’2.5″), while Buffington has turned in a top time of 1:55.26 in the 800.
