Dec. 17, 2019 Girls’ Hoops Recaps: Hinderliter Scores 27 as Redbank Valley Beats Clarion; Keystone Slides Past Moniteau

REDBANK VALLEY 65, CLARION 61

CLARION, Pa. – Tara Hinderliter dropped in a team-high 27 points to help visiting Redbank Valley rally past Clarion, 65-61, in KSAC South action.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed by six, 35-29, early in the third quarter before building a 10-point lead, 55-45, early in the fourth quarter.

Clarion closed within two twice (58-56, 60-58) late but couldn’t get over the hump despite a game-high 29 points from Kait Constantino, who scored 21 of her team’s 32 first-half points.

Hinderliter scored four points in the final minutes to help hold off the Lady Cats and tallied eight in the fourth quarter and 12 in the second half.

She talked about the victory.

Alivia Huffman and Emma Huffman also contributed in the second half to the victory with both players scoring all eight of their points in the second half to combine for 16 total second-half tallies for the Lady Bulldogs.

Lauren Smith added nine points in the win.

KK Girvin chipped in 12 points off the bench for Clarion with Jordan Best adding nine tallies.

KEYSTONE 38, MONITEAU 36

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – After building a nine-point halftime lead, Keystone held off a second-half comeback by Moniteau to pick up a 38-36 road win in KSAC South action.

The Lady Panthers were ahead 22-13 at the break but were outscored 23-16 after the break.

Danae Hurrelbrink led Keystone with 13 points with Jozee Weaver adding nine.

Aslyn Pry had a double-double for Moniteau with 11 points and 15 rebounds with Haley Pry adding eight points.

CLEARFIELD 59, PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 40

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. – Tesa Miller scored 16 points to lead visiting Clearfield to its first win of the season, 59-40, over Philipsburg-Osceola in Mountain League action.

Megan Durandetta added 13 points for the Lady Bison, Kylie VanTassel chipped in 10 and Emma Hipps and Olivia Bender each had nine.

Kyleigh Kennedy led Philipsburg-Osceola with 14 points with Lindsey Bordas adding 13 points.

HOLLIDAYSBURG 44, ST. MARYS 36

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Marin Miller scored 17 points to lead visiting Hollidaysburg to a 44-36 win over St. Marys.

Allison Hileman added 11 points for the Lady Tigers.

Megan Quesenberry paced St. Marys with 12 points with Kaylee Muccio scoring 10.
