CLARION 52, BALD EAGLE AREA 50

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Archer Mills hit a 10-foot shot from the right corner with time running down to lift Clarion to a 52-50 win over Bald Eagle Area in the championship game of the Carl Truance Holiday Tournament at Punxsutawney.

Clarion, which led 30-20 at halftime, trailed 50-49 in the final seconds when Cam Craig came down the right side and then passed to Mills, in the right corner, who swished the shot for his only points of the game to put the Bobcats ahead 51-50.

Bald Eagle then called timeout but was out of timeouts meaning a technical foul was assessed against the Eagles. Craig then hit one of two free throws to set the final score.

After taking the 10-point halftime lead, Clarion went cold from the floor to start the second half with Bald Eagle Area taking advantage to go on a 20-0 run to take a 40-30 lead. But the Bobcats finished the quarter on an 8-0 spurt to get back within two.

Craig led Clarion with 18 points with Austin Hummell adding 16.

Jordan Jones had a game-high 21 points to lead Bald Eagle with Jaden Jones chipping in 12.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 71, MARION CENTER 34

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Brandon Matthews and Kevin Constant combined for 26 points to lead Punxsutawney to a 71-34 win over Marion Center in the consolation game of the Carl Truance Holiday Tournament at Punxsutawney.

Matthews led the Chucks with 14 points with Constant adding 12.

AUSTIN 73, NORTHERN POTTER 36

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Four Austin players reached double digits helping the Panthers to a 73-36 win over Northern Potter in the Maple Leaf Tournament at Coudersport.

Parker Glover had 16 points and six rebounds to pace Austin with Blake Burgett adding 15 points, nine rebounds and six steals. Mason Valenti chipped in 14 points and Dempsey Glover 11 points. Jackson Glover also had eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in a winning effort.

Holden Cowburn and Frank Kosa each netted 11 points for Northern Potter.

REDBANK VALLEY 57, FOREST AREA 37

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Keaton Kahle, Nick Smith and Logan Wadding combined for 45 points to lead Redbank Valley to a 57-37 win over Forest Area on the second day of the North Clarion Holiday Classic.

Seth Berlin had 12 points and nine rebounds for Forest Area with Dillion DiCorpo adding 11 points and eight rebounds and Randy Moyer four points and eight boards.

NORTH CLARION 69, A-C VALLEY 29

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Nathan Banner scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help North Clarion roll to a 69-29 win over A-C Valley on the second day of the North Clarion Holiday Classic.

Korey Mills added 12 points for the Wolves, who led by just two, 14-12, after a quarter before outscoring A-C Valley 23-7 in the second quarter and 20-4 in the third quarter to pull away. Zander Hargenrader chipped in 10 points.

Dalton Callander had 10 points to pace A-C Valley with Jeff Ginn adding eight points.

Banner talked about the win.

CLEARFIELD 73, HARMONY 31

COMMODORE, Pa. – Reese Wilson had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Clearfield to a 73-31 win over Harmony in the Purchase Line Christmas Tournament.

Cade Walker added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bison with Taye Lynch and Ryan Chew chipping in eight tallies apiece.

Clearfield will take on Purchase Line in the title game Friday.

KANE 61, UNION 42

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Chad Greville exploded for 26 points to lead Kane to a 61-42 win over Union in the championship game of the Sheffield Sports Boosters Christmas Tournament.

Al Rezzelle added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Wolves with Tommy Holt adding 10 points.

Lucas Bowser paced Union with 13 points with Hunter Johnston adding eight points.

SHEFFIELD 58, YOUNGSVILLE 45

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Walker Kyler netted 21 points and handed out five assists to help Sheffield to a 58-45 win over Youngsville in the consolation game of the Sheffield Sports Boosters Christmas Tournament.

Cal Albaugh added 14 points and seven assists for the Wolverines with Matt Dunham chipping in 10 points, five assists and five steals.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 89, KARNS CITY 43

RURAL VALLEY, Pa. – Ian Callen came two steals away from a quadruple-double but still recorded a triple-double to help Clarion-Limestone rout Karns City, 89-43, in the opening round of the West Shamokin Holiday Classic.

Ian Callen finished the day with 17 points, 14 assists, 11 rebounds and eight steals. His younger brother, Hayden Callen, had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds while adding five blocked shots and Deion Deas added 21 points. Christiam Smith also had 15 for the Lions.

Logan Pistorius led Karns City with eight points with Nolan Riley, Jacob Friel and Chase Beighley each adding seven.

C-L will take Northgate in the title game Friday with Karns City facing West Shamokin in the consolation contest.
