KANE 62, SHEFFIELD 33

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Andrew Bucheit scored 22 points, hauled down 13 rebounds and dished out six assists to lead Kane to the Sheffield Sports Boosters Christmas Tournament title with a 62-33 win over the host Wolverines.

Chad Greville added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves, who also got 11 points from Frank Truden.

Cale Albaugh paced Sheffield with 10 points.

UNION 56, YOUNGSVILLE 52

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Dana Logue scored six of his eight points in a crucial second quarter, and Lucas Bowser chipped in eight of his team-high 17 in a game-deciding third quarter to help Union top Youngsville, 56-52, in the consolation game of the Sheffield Sports Boosters Christmas Tournament.

Youngsville led 17-10 at the end of a quarter but behind Logue Union rallied to take a 28-27 halftime lead. Bowser then pushed that margin to 11, 43-32, going to the fourth quarter before the Golden Knights held off a late charge by the Eagles.

Wyatt Rugar scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to try to rally Youngsville. Brady Kesterholt had a game-high 20 points while hitting six 3-pointers to lead the Eagles.

Gavin Hawk chipped in 13 points, five rebounds, four steals and four assists for Union, while Bowser added five steals, three rebounds and two assists to his 17 points.

MONITEAU 50, PERRY 48, OVERTIME

CHESWICK, Pa. – Lake Pry buried the game-winning shot with three seconds left in overtime to give Moniteau a 50-48 win over Perry in the consolation game of the Deer Lakes Christmas Tournament.

The game-winning shot capped a fantastic night for Pry, who had 25 points and nine rebounds.

Jake Jewart chipped in 10 points for the Warriors, who were tied with the Commodores at 45 at the end of regulation.

James Goodwine scored 24 points to lead Perry, including 17 after halftime.

CLARION 67, MARION CENTER 51

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Austin Hummell came off the bench and scored 17 points to go with nine rebounds to help Clarion hold off Marion Center, 67-51, in the opening round of the Carl Truance Holiday Classic at Punxsutawney.

Hummell scored eight of his points in the fourth quarter after Marion Center had trimmed a 15-points, 32-17, halftime deficit to six, 46-40.

Hummell talked about the game and his performance.

Cam Craig scored a team-high 18 points for the Bobcats including nine in the first quarter to help the Bobcats grab a 22-12 lead after one.

Cody Wise led Marion Center with a game-high 20 points including nine in a third quarter that saw the Stingers outscore Clarion 23-14. Paul McClure added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds with 10 of his points and six of his rebounds coming in the third quarter.

Clarion will face host Punxsutawney in the championship contest with Marion Center battling Bald Eagle Area in the consolation game. Both contests are Thursday.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 60, BALD EAGLE AREA 44

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Jake Weaver dropped in 16 points to lead Punxsutawney to a 60-44 win over Bald Eagle Area in the opening round of the Carl Truance Holiday Classic at Punxsutawney.

The Chucks, who led from the start, saw nine different players tally at least one basket.

Punxsutawney takes on Clarion in Thursday’s title game, while Bald Eagle battles Marion Center in the consolation contest.

ROCKY GROVE 82, VENANGO CATHOLIC 30

OIL CITY, Pa. – Tyler Davis and Travis Perry combined to score 34 points, as Rocky Grove blew past Venango Catholic, 82-30, in the opening round of the Oil City Holiday Tournament.

Davis led the Orioles with 18 points with Perry chipping in 16 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks and five steals. Josh Kirwin added 13 points and Connor Curran with 10 for Rocky Grove, which led 50-17 at halftime.

Hunter Lancaster tied Davis for game-high honors with 18 points for Venango Catholic with Tim Wagner chipping in 11.

Rocky Grove will take on Oil City in Thursday’s title game with Venango Catholic playing VisionQuest in the consolation game.

SAEGERTOWN 59, NORTH CLARION 53

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Alan McGill netted a game-high 17 points to lead Saegertown to a 59-53 win over North Clarion in the opening round of the Maple Leaf Tournament at Coudersport.

Grant Phelan and Steve Siple each added 11 points for the Panthers, who outscored North Clarion 31-24 in the middle two quarters to break open a game that was tied at 14 after eight minutes.

Nathan Banner paced North Clarion, who will play Northern Potter in Thursday’s consolation game, with 16 points. Chase Schmader added 14 tallies.

Saegertown will battle Coudersport for the tournament title Thursday.

COUDERSPORT 84, NORTHERN POTTER 28

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Owen Chambers hit five of Coudersport’s 12 3-pointers, as the Falcons rolled past visiting Northern Potter, 84-28, in the opening round of the Maple Leaf Tournament.

Behind the long-range shot, Chambers scored a game-high 25 points in the win, which doubled as a North Tier League victory for Coudersport. Jared Green chipped in 21 points, while Zach Layag added 13 for the Falcons.

Mac Porter paced Northern Potter with 13 points.
