NORTH CLARION 45, KANE 38

KANE, Pa. – Tori Obenrader’s 13 points and 23 rebounds helped North Clarion claim the Kane Christmas Tournament title with a 45-38 win over Kane Wednesday.

Abbie Schmader added 11 points for the She-Wolves, who outscored Kane in all but the fourth quarter and took a 27-21 lead into halftime.

Trinity Clark led Kane with 11 points with Ella Marconi adding 10. Camryn Cummings had a solid all-around game for the Lady Wolves with eight assists, six rebounds and five steals.

UNION 62, LAUREL 59

MERCER, Pa. – Lexey Shick and Frankee Remmick each hit the 20-point mark in leading Union to a 62-59 win over Laurel in the championship game of the Mercer Christmas Tournament Wednesday.

Shick finished with a game-high 26 points while going 11 of 13 from the free-throw line, while Remmick poured in a career-high 20 points, including 14 in a 23-point second quarter for the Golden Damsels.

ST. MARYS 47, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 33

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Rachel Bauer scored a game-best 17 points to lead St. Marys to the title of the Elk County Tournament with a 47-33 win over Elk County Catholic Wednesday night at St. Marys High School.

Jenna Cherry and Michelle Bauer each added seven points for the Lady Dutch, who used a 15-8 second quarter to build a 26-12 halftime lead.

Reilly Herzing led ECC with 12 points and six rebounds.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 53, DUBOIS 45

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic outscored DuBois 21-10 in the fourth quarter to erase a three-point deficit heading to the quarter and get a 53-45 win in the championship game of the Brookville Christmas Tournament Wednesday night.

Riley Assalone scored eight of her game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter for the Lady Cardinals, while Gabby Caruso had six of her 14 points in the frame. Jordy Frank added 11 points for DCC.  Caruso finished a double-double with 11 rebounds.

Courtney Chandler led DuBois with 13 points and eight rebounds with Ashley Hallowell adding 12 points and 14 rebounds.

The game was a back-and-forth affair all night with 18 lead changes.   

COUDERSPORT 54, CAMERON COUNTY 41

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Haley Keck poured in 23 points, as host Coudersport knocked off Cameron County, 54-41, in the championship game of the Maple Leaf Tournament Wednesday.

Keck scored 19 first-half points including 12 in the second quarter to help the Lady Falcons grab a 32-20 halftime lead.

Ally Easton chipped in 11 points and Kiara Perkins eight for the Lady Falcons who also got three points, four assists and four steals from Emily Morey.

Madi Guisto paced Cameron County with 20 points six rebounds and four steals, and Madison Harrier added 10 points. Amily Schatz hauled down 11 rebounds to go with two points.   

NORTHERN POTTER 62, ARCHBISHOP WALSH (NY) 16

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Gracie Hamilton and Kalie Cowburn combined to score 39 points while leading Northern Potter to a 62-16 win over Archbishop Walsh of Olean, N.Y., in the consolation game of the Maple Leaf Tournament at Coudersport High School Wednesday afternoon.

Hamilton netted a game-best 22 points, while Cowburn chipped in with 17 tallies. Becca Morgan also scored in double figures with 10 points for the Lady Panthers, who led 24-0 at the half.

Grace Greer paced Walsh with 12 points on four second-half 3-pointers.

COMMODORE PERRY 67, A-C VALLEY 41

HADLEY, Pa. – The middle two quarters doomed A-C Valley in a 67-41 loss to host Commodore Perry in the championship game of the Commodore Perry Holiday Tournament Wednesday.

The Lady Falcons trailed by just five, 17-12, after one quarter but were outscored 35-15 in the next two quarters – by 10 in each quarter.  

Morgan Cratty led A-C Valley with 15 points, 12 coming before halftime including eight in the second quarter, while Cami McNany added 13 points scoring 13 of the Lady Falcons 14 fourth-quarter tallies while going 9 of 10 from the free-throw line in the game.

Stephanie Vaughn paced all scorers with 22 points for Commodore Perry, while Shae Grinnell and Kate Wilkosz each chipped in with 12 points.

KARNS CITY 70, GENERAL MCLANE 29

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Emily Hegedus and LeeAnn Gibson exploded for 22 combined points in the second quarter alone and 43 for the game to lead Karns City to a 70-29 win over General McLane in the consolation game of the Hickory Tournament Wednesday.

The Lady Gremlins held an 11-2 lead at the end of the first quarter before exploding for 31 second-quarter points while outscoring the Lancers 31-7 in the quarter to take a 42-9 halftime lead.

Hegedus finished with a game-high 22 points, while Gibson added 21 tallies and Mackenzie Craig 10 for the Lady Gremlins.

JOHNSONBURG 41, RIDGWAY 23

  1. MARYS, Pa. – A big second half helped Johnsonburg knock off Ridgway, 41-23, in the consolation game of the Elk County Tournament Wednesday afternoon at St. Marys High School.

The Ramettes led by just seven, 21-14, at the break before outscoring Ridgway 20-9 in the second 16 minutes .

Cassidy King led Johnsonburg with 11 points, five steals and five rebounds with Nicole Myers and Brianna Quiggle each scoring seven. Quiggle also had six steals

Emily Fullem paced Ridgway with 11 points, and Jessica Kifer added five for the Lady Elkers.

BROOKVILLE 46, BROCKWAY 36

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Brookville’s Elaina Powell came out hot hitting three 3-pointers before Brockway scored to lead the Lady Raiders to a 46-36 win in the consolation game of the Brookville Christmas Tournament Wednesday.  

Powell, who hit five 3-pointers on the night, finished with a game-high 17 points for the Lady Raiders, who led 27-20 at halftime.

Brooke Shattenberg chipped in 11 points and Hali Olson 10 for Brookville.

Leah Lindenmuth paced Brockway with 10 points with Katylynn Cappetta adding eight.

HAZLETON 53, PUNXSUTAWNEY 44

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Behind 20 points from Mackenzie Yori, Hazleton knocked off host Punxsutawney, 53-44, in the title game of the Carl Truance Holiday Tournament Wednesday night.

Leah Miller led the Lady Chucks with 16 points and Hope Bridge added 10.

Punxsutawney led 28-22 at halftime thanks to 10 points from Miller but was outscored 19-8 in the third quarter with Yori and Maddie Mrochko each scoring five points for the visitors. Mrochko finished with 13 points.

CLARION 42, EISENHOWER 30

KANE, Pa. – Behind 15 points and three steals from Anna Reed, Clarion beat Eisenhower, 42-30, in the consolation game of the Kane Christmas Tournament Wednesday night.

Kelly Beveridge added 11 points and three steals and Gloria Kroh six points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Cats, who trailed 18-8 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Lady Knights 34-12 the rest of the way including 13-1 in the second quarter.

CORNELL 44, MONITEAU 28

BESSEMER, Pa. – Dominique Richards netted a game-high 18 points to help Cornell beat shorthanded Moniteau, 44-28, in the consolation game of the Mohawk Christmas Tournament Wednesday.

Sara Hulled led Moniteau, which played for the second straight game without leading scorer Kristina DeMatteis, who is on vacation, with 14 points and five blocked shots. Alazia Greaves added eight points.
