UNION 54, REYNOLDS 52, 2 OVERTIMES

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Morgan Cumberland’s only basket of the game was a big one with around 19 seconds left in the second overtime giving Union a 54-52 win over visiting Reynolds on the opening day of the Union Tip-off Classic.

Dominika Logue also hit a big 3-pointers in the second extra session for the Golden Damsels.

Logue led Union with 26 points in her high school debut while Hailey Kriebel had nine points and Marlie Hawk eight.

RIDGWAY 45, COMMODORE PERRY 41

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Ridgway used a balanced effort to pick up a 45-41 win over Commodore Perry in the Union Tip-off Classic.

Gabby Rohr led the Lady Elkers with 10 points while adding three assists. Christina Fullem and Eve Cobaugh each added nine points with Alyssa Kasmerski scoring eight and Lindsay Steis seven. Fullem chipped in six rebounds and three steals, Kasmerski had seven assists and Casey Woodford added eight rebounds to go with two points.

Kate Hildenbran led all scorers with 28 points for Commodore Perry.

MANSFIELD 50, NORTHERN POTTER 18

WESTFIELD, Pa. – JoAnne McNamara and Lizzi Welch combined for 24 points to lead Mansfield to a 50-18 win over Northern Potter at the Jack Bush Invitational at Cowanesque Valley.

McNamara scored a game-high 14 points with Welch adding 10.

Abbi Anderson, Alyssa Burchell Mirissa Bliss and Courtney Martin each scored three points for Northern Potter.

Northern Potter will not have a Saturday game, as only three teams were at the tournament.

BROOKVILLE 54, CLEARFIELD 30

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Morgan Johnson scored 13 points to lead Brookville to a 54-30 win over Clearfield in the opening round of the Brookville Tip-off Tournament.

Marcy Schindler added 10 points in the win for the Raiders.

Tesa Miller paced Clearfield with nine points with Faith Ogden adding eight points. Brookville limited Alayna Ryan to just four points.

PORT ALLEGANY 60, YOUNGSVILLE 30

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Bre Garzel netted 15 points and six rebounds to lead Port Allegany to a 60-30 win over Youngsville in the Sheffield Tournament.

Erin Stauffer added 14 points and four assists for the Lady Gators while Cailey Barnett chipped in for 12 points and four steals.

Sadie Hoffman paced Youngsville with eight points and Kamryn Weissinger tallied seven.

MOON 59, MONITEAU 24

MOON, Pa. – Despite 12 points from Kristen Auvil, Moniteau fell to Moon, 59-24, in the opening round of the Moon Tournament.

Reilly Sunday led all Moon players with 17 points while Sofia Mancini added 10.

For Moniteau, Andie Arblaster chipped in for six points and Katelyn Daniels had four.

FRIENDSHIP CENTRAL (N.Y.) 26, OSWAYO VALLEY 21

FRIENDSHIP, N.Y., – Thanks to 12 points from Charis Ruxton, Friendship Central defeated visiting Oswayo Valley, 26-21.

Karina West paced Oswayo Valley with nine points and Faith Coole tallied five.

SLIPPERY ROCK 68, KEYSTONE 48

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Despite 19 points from McKenzie Hovis and 14 from Emily Lauer, Keystone dropped a 68-48 decision at Slippery Rock in the opening round of the Slippery Rock Tournament.

Maryann Ackerman led Slippery Rock with 17 points with Anna Kadlubek adding 16.

OTTO-ELDRED 60, EISENHOWER 31

DUKES CENTER, Pa. – Hailey Cousins netted 12 points to lead Otto-Eldred to a 60-31 victory over visiting Eisenhower.

Jadelyn Spinney chipped in for 11 points for the Lady Terrors and Kayley Heller added 10.

Emiley Wheeler paced Eisenhower with a game-high 18 points.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 48, WESTMONT-HILLTOP 30

MARION CENTER, Pa. – Balanced scoring helped Punxsutawney defeat Westmont-Hilltop, 48-30, in the opening round of the Marion Center Tournament.

Abby Gigliotti, Riley Presloid, and Sarah Weaver all tallied 11 points apiece for the Lady Chucks.

JOHNSONBURG 45, ST. MARYS 40

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Thanks to 21 Cassidy King points, Johnsonburg topped visiting St. Marys, 45-40, in the opening round of the Johnsonburg Tip-off Tournament.

Rylee Casilio added nine points for the Ramettes.

Megan Quesenberry led St. Marys with 15 points.

GALETON 51, AUSTIN 17

GALETON, Pa. – Cara Parsell scored a game-high 13 points to lead Galeton to a 51-17 win over visiting Austin in the opening round of the Galeton Tip-off Tournament.

Katelyn Pagano added nine points for the Lady Tigers.

Julia Latimore had five points to pace Austin.

A-C VALLEY 67, FARRELL 30

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Kylee Eaton led a trio of A-C Valley players in double digits with 21 points, as the Lady Falcons topped Farrell, 67-30, in the opening round of the West Middlesex Tip-off Classic.

Olivia Boocks, in her first action since mid-January, added 17 points and Cami McNany had 11. Andrea Meals also contributed eight points for A-C Valley.

Kyra Crosby paced Farrell with 10 points.

MERCER 64, SHEFFIELD 19

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Darby Miller, Peyton Miller and Julia Balaski each scored eight points to lead Mercer to a 64-19 win over Sheffield in the opening round of the Sheffield Tournament.

Annabel Sheldon and Emily Leichtenberger each scored six points for Sheffield.

DUBOIS 59, REDBANK VALLEY 48

BROCKWAY, Pa, – Behind 16 points from Chelsea DeSalve DuBois beat Redbank Valley, 59-47, in the opening game of the Brockway Tip-off Tournament.

Olivia Johnson added 11 points for the Lady Beavers.

Tara Hinderliter scored 21 points to lead Redbank Valley with Kelsie Elmer adding 11.

WEST BRANCH 63, CURWENSVILLE 23

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – West Branch picked up a 63-23 Mo Valley League victory at Curwensville to open the season.

Madi Weber led Curwensville with eight points.

NORTH CLARION 64, CLARION-LIMESTONE 22

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Abby Gatesman scored 17 points to help North Clarion to its 31st consecutive regular-season win and its 36th in a row vs. District 9 opponents with a 64-22 victory over Clarion-Limestone in the opening round of the Brookville Tip-off Tournament.

Mackenzie Bauer added 14 points and four assists and Gabby Schmader 12 points for the She-Wolves, whose last regular-season loss and last loss to a D9 opponent came Jan. 20, 2017, 65-64, at A-C Valley.

Anna Burns had nine points to pace C-L with Janelle Pezzutti adding eight.

HOLLIDAYSBURG 61, BRADFORD 43

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Despite 14 points from Erica Marshall, Bradford fell to Hollidaysburg, 61-43, in the opening round of the Hollidaysburg Tip-Off Tournament.

Morgan Tygel netted 12 points for the Lady Owls and Hannah Lary had nine.

MARION CENTER 58, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 23

MARION CENTER, Pa. – Jackie Fetsko netted 24 points to lead Marion Center to a 58-23 win over DuBois Central Catholic on the opening day of the Marion Center Tip-off Tournament.

Shay Gulvas and Ashley Wruble each scored six points for DCC.

CLARION 48, BROCKWAY 28

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Freshman Jordan Best scored 15 points and hauled down 12 rebounds to lead visiting Clarion to a 48-28 win over Brockway in the opening round of the Brockway Tip-off Tournament.

Allie Troese added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Cats with Wendy Beveridge chipping in six points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots.

Danielle Wood paced Brockway with 10 points.

KANE 35, COUDERSPORT 32

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Ella Marconi helped lead Kane to a come-from-behind 35-32 win over Coudersport in the first round of the Johnsonburg Tip-Off Tournament.

Marconi finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots as the Lady Wolves trailed by seven points going into the fourth quarter when they outscored Coudersport, 14-4. Emily Bucheit scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds. Hanna Buhl dished out six assists.

Dana Dubots, Shaelyn Black and Rosalyn Page each scored six points for Coudersport.

CRANBERRY 68, ROCKY GROVE 21

ROCKY GROVE, Pa. – Malliah Schreck and Ava Ferringer piled up 41 points to lead Cranberry past host Rocky Grove in a 68-21 rout in the first round of the Roy Sanner Tip-Off Tournament.

Schreck scored 27 points while Ava Ferringer finished with 14 points. The Berries led 40-11 at halftime.

Emmy Ekis scored 10 points for Rocky Grove.
