MONITEAU 55, MAPLEWOOD 52

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Gage Neal scored nine of his team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter, including seven from the free-throw line, as Moniteau eked past Maplewood, 55-52, on the second day of the Union Tip-off Classic.

Jared Lominski added 15 points for the Warriors with Ethan McDeavitt chipping in 11 points and seven assists.

Jake Brunot led Maplewood with 15 points with Jordan Hollabaugh adding 13.

FREDONIA (N.Y.) 64, SMETHPORT 40

ALLEGANY, N.Y. – Nate Shuart and Brayden Myers each scored 14 points to lead Fredonia (N.Y.) to a 64-40 win over Smethport in the consolation game of the Allegany-Limestone (N.Y.) Tournament.

Conner Alfieri paced Smethport with 10 points with Ian Woodruff adding eight.

NORTH CLARION 89, PORT ALLEGANY 61

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Tyler McCord-Wolbert was one of five North Clarion players in double digits with a career-high 24 points, as the Wolves took home the Sheffield Sports Boosters Tip-off Tournament championship with an 89-61 win over Port Allegany.

Kyle Mills added 19 points and five rebounds for the Wolves with Sam Minich scoring 12 points and handing out five assists, Korey Mills scoring 11 points to go with five rebounds and Logan Minich adding 10 points and six assists. Maton Higgins also had six helpers and two points with McCord-Wolber dishing out five assists.

For Port Allegany, Howie Stuckey had 21 points with Jordan Card scoring 12.

UNION 51, COMMODORE PERRY 38

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Caden Rainey had 14 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals to give Union its first win of the year, 51-38, over visiting Commodore Perry on the second day of the Union Tip-off Classic.

Nolan Cumberland also scored 14 points for the Golden Knights with Quintin Weaver adding 11 points and six rebounds.

Jared Mink led Commodore Perry with 11 points and Hunter Artman added 10.

REDBANK VALLEY SPLITS PAIR OF GAMES

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Redbank Valley split a pair of games Saturday losing, XX, to West Shamokin and then coming right back and beating Slippery Rock, 54-50.

West Shamokin 64, Redbank Valley 59

Carson Dewitt lit the lamp for 26 points to lead West Shamokin to a 64-59 win over Redbank Valley in the opener.

Nick Smith led Redbank Valley with 21 points, Keaton Kahle added 14 points and Tanner Kerle had 13.

Redbank Valley 54, Slippery Rock 50

Smith and Kahle combined for 37 points in the win. Smith led the Bulldogs with 21 and Kahle added 16.

Judah Roth had 18 points for Slippery Rock.

JOHNSONBURG 59, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 48, OVERTIME

DUBOIS, Pa. – Austin Green scored seven of his team-high 20 points in overtime to lift Johnsonburg to a 59-48 win over DuBois Central Catholic in the championship game of the DCC Tip-off Tournament.

The teams were tied at 45 at the end of regulation before the Rams outscored the Cardinals 14-3 in the extra period with all of DCC’s points coming from the free-throw line.

Johnsonburg trailed by three going to the fourth quarter before outscoring DCC, 16-13, in the eight minutes to force overtime. Green (6 points) and Gino Gregori (5 points) were key in the fourth quarter for the Rams.

Justin Miknis hit five 3-pointers on his way to 26 points to lead DCC.

Issac Schloder and Gabe Watts each chipped in nine points for the game for Johnsonburg.

YOUNGSVILLE 60, FOREST AREA 45

MARIENVILLE, Pa. – Joe Mack had a game-high 23 points to lead Youngsville to a 60-45 win over Forest Area in the Forest Area Tip-off Tournament at East Forest.

Luke Cussins had 11 points for Forest Area with Seth Seidle adding 10 and Jarret Kahle nine.

DUBOIS 65, ST. MARYS 63, 2 OVERTIMES

KNOX, Pa. – Lennon Lindholm scored 22 points to help DuBois outlast St. Marys, 65-63, in two overtimes in the championship game of the Keystone Tip-off Tournament.

Justin Manduley added 12 points for the Beavers with Jonathan Cruz scoring 10 and Alex Beers nine.

DuBois trailed by seven, 44-37, going to the fourth quarter before forcing extra time by outscoring St. Marys, 16-9, in the fourth thanks in large part to two monster 3-pointers by Lindholm, who hit three threes in the game.

Luke Lasko had 21 points to pace St. Marys while hitting five triples. Jacob Wilson chipped in 11 points for the Dutch with Cahil Parish scoring 10.

JAMESTOWN 79, SHEFFIELD 56

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Behind 21 points from Dawson Urbansky Jamestown beat Sheffield, 79-56, in the consolation game of the Sheffield Sports Boosters Tip-off Tournament.

Tyler Hepinger led Sheffield with 19 points, six rebounds, three steals and three blocks with Jacob Viopal recording a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

GALETON 39, CANTON 37

GALETON, Pa. – Evan Brooks and Isaiah Shuemaker combined for 27 points to lead Galeton to a 39-37 victory over visiting Canton in the championship game of the Galeton Tournament.

Brooks had a game-high 14 points for the Tigers with Shuemaker netting 12.

Michael Smithens paced all Canton scorers with 13 points and Camden Route chipped in for 12.

KARNS CITY 56, PORTERSVILLE CHRISTIAN 31

FOXBURG, Pa. – Thanks to 16 points from Austin Fahlor, Karns City defeated Portersville Christian, 56-31, in the consolation game of the A-C Valley Hoops for Heroes Crossover.

Nathan Waltman had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Gremlins and Ethan McElroy tallied nine points, all 3-pointers.

Elijah White paced Portersville with 12 points.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 69, MARION CENTER 49

DUBOIS, Pa. – Ethan Blose went off for 22 points to lead Punxsutawney to a 69-49 victory over Marion Center in the consolation game of the DCC Tip-off Tournament.

Daren Byers netted 18 points for the Chucks with Ethan Presloid and Andrew Wehrle each adding six apiece.

Justin Petceson had a 14 point effort for Marion Center.

AUSTIN 70, WILLIAMSON 54

GALETON, Pa. – Dempsey Glover records a double-double to help Austin defeat Williamson, 70-54, in the consolation game of the Galeton Tournament.

Glover had a game-high 26 points for the Panthers while also grabbing 10 rebounds. Blake Burgett chipped in for 14 tallies with Jackson Glover adding 13.

For Williamson, Kolby Allen netted 18 points and Carter Strenge had 13.

KEYSTONE 48, CLARION 39

KNOX, Pa. – Troy Johnson scored a career-high 18 points to lead Keystone to a 48-39 win over Clarion in the consolation game of the Keystone Tip-off Tournament.

Alex Rapp added 13 points in the win for the Panthers.

Johnson and Rapp each scored eight points in the fourth quarter, as Keystone, who trailed 25-16 at halftime and 36-29 after three quarters, outscored Clarion, 19-3, in the final eight minutes to rally for the win.

Cal German led Clarion with 13 points with Tijon Faulk-Taylor adding a career-high 12 points all on four first-half 3-pointers.

NORTHERN POTTER 61, BUCKTAIL 51

WESTFIELD, Pa. – Carter Anderson and Holden Cowburn combined for 33 points, as Northern Potter snapped a 30-game losing streak with a 61-51 win over Bucktail at the Jack Bush Tournament at Cowanesque Valley.

Anderson had 17 points for the Panthers, who last won, 51-41, over Austin Jan. 17, 2017, while Cowburn added 16 points.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 56, FORT LEBOEUF 39

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Deon Deas exploded for 26 points to give Clarion-Limestone its first win of the year, 56-39 over Fort LeBoeuf in the consolation game of the Grove City Tip-off Tournament.

Hayden Callen added 20 points in the win for the Lions while hitting four 3-pointers. Deas also had four triples in the game.

Brandon Drayer led the Bison with 14 points.

CRANBERRY 56, VENANGO CATHOLIC 52

ROCKY GROVE, Pa. – Matt McQuaide scored a game-high 22 points to lead Cranberry to a 56-52 win over Venango Catholic in the consolation game of the Roy Sanner Memorial Tournament at Rocky Grove.

JT Stahlman added 16 points in the win for the Berries with Dan Fisher chipping in with eight.

Andrew Burda and Ben Gillispie combined for 42 points for Venango Catholic led by Burda’s game-high tying 22 tallies. Gillispie chipped in 20.

NORTH EAST 79, A-C VALLEY 38

FOXBURG, Pa. – Behind 26 points from Garrett Hein, visiting North East beat A-C Valley, 79-38, on the second day of the Hoops for Heroes Crossover.

Brock Conn and August Neff each added 12 points for the Grape Pickers.

Eddie Stevanus led A-C Valley with 14 points and eight rebounds with Broc Weigle adding seven points and six boards.

WARREN 56, BROOKVILLE 54

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Warren rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to stun Brookville, 56-54, in the championship game of the Brookville Tip-off Tournament.

The homestanding Raiders led 31-14 in the closing seconds of the first half before Griffin Suppa hit a 3-pointer from a step behind half court at the first-half horn to cut the Brookville lead to 14, 31-17.

The Dragons then cut into that lead farther in the third quarter and got within five, 40-35, going to the fourth quarter before outscoring Brookville 21-14 in the final eight minutes to pull out the win.

Suppa led Warren with 19 points and Jake Kupchella added 13.

Bryan Dworek paced Brookville with 17 tallies with Aaron Park adding 14.

BROCKWAY 69, MERCER 43

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Zane Puhala, Alec Freemer and Jon Wood each reached double figures to lift Brockway to a 60-43 win over Mercer in the consolation game of the Brookville Tip-off Tournament.

Puhala led the Rovers with 18 points, Freemer added 16 and Wood chipped in with 12.

Brian Shevitz paced Mercer with 11 points.
