PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – District 9 released the 2017 softball playoff brackets Thursday.
Teams will be competing for either District 9 or sub-regional titles in four classifications – 1A, 2A, 3A and 5A.
Punxsutawney was the lone entrant in the 4A playoffs, so the Lady Chucks now move into the PIAA playoffs where they will face the WPIAL champion June 5.
District 9 titles will be decided in Class 1A and Class 2A, while Class 3A plays a subregional with District 5 and Class 5A plays a subregional with District 6.
