The Golden Tigers, the top seed, hit 12 3-pointers, including six in a 24-point first quarter that allowed them to set the tone taking a 24-14 lead after one.

Austin Finochio, who hit five threes in the game, nailed four of those long-range shots before the first eight minutes was up while netting 16 of Hollidaysburg’s points in the opening quarter on his way to a team-high 19 points.

Ethan Haupt took over in the second quarter tallying 10 of his 13 points in the frame to help the Tigers expand their lead to 40-25 at halftime.

Any thought of a DuBois comeback went away in the third quarter when Hollidaysburg (16-6) outscored the fourth-seeded Beavers (10-13) 22-7 with six different Tigers scoring in the quarter.

“I’m very proud of the team’s achievements this year,” head coach Scott Creighton said. “They exceeded everyone’s expectations except their own.

“I want to thank the seniors for their dedication and leadership. They have set the bar high for next year’s team.”

Kenny Garvey netted a season-best 25 points for DuBois while hitting five 3-pointers. But three of the triples and 13 of the points came in the fourth quarter after the game was decided.

Nick Labrasca chipped in 18 points for the Beavers including nine in the first quarter, but the rest of the team scored just eight points including seven from Brendon Foley.

Kenny Garvey tried to keep DuBois in the game scoring a season-best 25 points while hitting five 3-pointers of his own.

Sam Servello added 13 points for Hollidaysburg, who will play second-seeded Central Mountain, a 47-44 winner over third-seeded Bellefonte, in the title game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Aloysius College.
