CLARION, Pa. – After accounting for nearly 600 yards of total offense by himself, DuBois senior quarterback Gabe French is the D9Sports.com District 9 Football Player of the Week for Week 10 of the 2014 season.
The final Player of the Week for 2014, French earns the award for the fifth time after amassing 579 yards of total offense in the Beavers 34-31 win over Karns City, who was ranked No. 1 in District 9 in the First Commonwealth Bank/D9Sports.com rankings going into the week.
French was 27 of 43 passing for 330 yards, three touchdowns and an interception while also rushing 30 times for 249 yards and a touchdown while leading DuBois back from a 10-point, 31-21, second-half deficit.
Joining French in being honored are 15 players on the Week Nine District 10 Honor Roll.
The Player of the Week and Honor Roll will run through Week 10 of the 2014 high school football season and will be released at the conclusion of the week’s games either Sunday or Monday.
