This is the second meeting of the season between the fourth-seeded Lady Beavers (10-12) and fifth-seeded Bellefonte (9-13). DuBois won the first meeting, also at DuBois, 36-34, Jan. 10.

In that game, Chelsea DeSalve and Olivia Johnson each scored 11 points with Maddie Smith adding eight.

It was a layup by Smith with 1:27 to play that put DuBois ahead 35-33. Sara Dehaas had a chance to tie the game at the end for Bellefonte but her shot was off the mark.

Mallorie Smith paced Bellefonte with 11 points, Maddie Tice added 10 and Maddie Steiner nine.

DeSalve, one of just two seniors on a roster that is otherwise all sophomores and freshmen, leads DuBois scoring 11.9 points per game including a pair of 20-point contests. Johnson, a sophomore, is adding 7.6 ppg, while Maddie Smith, the other senior chips in 6.3 ppg and Abi Guiher, a sophomore, scores 5.4 ppg.

Bellefonte season stats weren’t available.

The winner will play at top-seeded Hollidaysburg at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the semifinals. The Lady Tigers have a bye into the semifinals.  See the full Class 5A bracket here.
