COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Behind 17 points from Darren Keglovits, Coudersport ousted Otto-Eldred from the District 9 Class A boys’ playoffs with a 60-48 win over the visiting Terrors Tuesday night in Coudy.

Keglovits hit six shots from the floor including a 3-pointer and was 4 of 4 from the free-throw for the fifth-seeded Falcons (19-4).

Jared Green added 12 points, and Zach Layag nine for Coudy.

Josh Tennies led all scorers with 21 points for Otto-Eldred (11-12). Heath Stewart added nine and Seth Drummond and Hunter Johnson each had seven for the Terrors, who trailed 34-21 at halftime.

Coudersport will take on fourth-seeded Clarion-Limestone at 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Marys High School in the quarterfinals.

VENANGO CATHOLIC 60, NORTH CLARION 51

OIL CITY, Pa. – Devin Zagar’s monster triple-double of 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots, Venango Catholic moved into the District 9 Class A boys’ basketball quarterfinals with a 60-51 win over visiting North Clarion Wednesday night.

Brady Kingston added 19 points and Scott Toy 18 for the seventh-seeded Vikings (15-7), who will be play second-seeded Ridgway at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Brookville in the quarterfinals.

The trio was enough to offset a big scoring night from North Clarion’s Christian Cyphert, who had a game-high 29 points while hitting eight shots – three 3-pointers – and 10 of 11 free throws. The Wolves finish the year 11-12.
