CLARION, Pa. – For the second straight week, five news team enter the Laurel Eye Clinic D9Sports.com District 9 Basketball Power Rating with three new members in the boys’ rating and two in the girls’ ratings.
The Feb. 8 Ratings are the last ratings of the regular season and the last ratings until the conclusion of the playoffs.
Entering the boys’ ratings are Brockway, Brookville and Oswayo Valley with Brockway jumping in at No. 11 riding a four-game win streak and having won five of six.
Oswayo Valley is in at No. 14 and is riding a four-game win streak of its own while winning 11 of its last 13 games, and Brookville comes in tied at No. 15 (with DuBois) having won 2 of 3.
The new teams in the girls’ ratings are Bradford at No. 10 and Clarion tied at No. 14 with Northern Potter.
The Lady Owls have won two in a row and 3 of 4, while Clarion, after a midseason slump, has won 3 of its past 4 as well.
Meanwhile, the top rated teams on both sides have stayed consistent throughout the year with unbeaten Elk County Catholic still sitting on top of the boys’ ratings and Karns City remaining No. 1 in the girls’ ratings.
