CLARION-LIMESTONE 96, VENANGO CATHOLIC 50

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – R.J. Laugand and Kolton Stiglitz combined to score 58 points to lead Clarion-Limestone to its second straight KSAC North Division title with a 96-50 win over Venango Catholic Monday.

The Lions (19-3 overall, 9-1 KSAC North), who got a season-high 31 points from Laugand and a season-best 27 from Stiglitz, finished in a first-place tie with Cranberry but win the tiebreaker based on more wins vs. teams over or at .500 than the Berries.

On Monday, a shorthanded Venango Catholic squad playing without two starters – Scott Toy (illness) and Luke Plumer (ankle) – was no match for the running Lions, who scored a season high in points while going over 90 for the second time in three games and over 80 for the fourth time in five contests.

C-L led 61-35 at halftime after scoring 30 points in the first quarter and 31 in the second.

Noah Rankin added 10 points for the Lions, while Jacob Hargenrader led VC (13-7, 5-4) With 15 points and Devin Zagar added 12.

The Lions, who have won three of the last four KSAC North championships, will go for their second KSAC title in as many years when they rematch with Redbank Valley in the title game at 8 p.m. Friday at Clarion University’s Tippin Gym.

MONITEAU 58, KARNS CITY 57

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Derek Boben hit the game-winning shot in overtime to lift Moniteau to a 58-57 win over visiting Karns City Monday night.

The Warriors’ win gives Redbank Valley its second straight KSAC South title.

Cody Skiver led Moniteau (9-12, 5-4) with 22 points, while James Bair added 18.

David Olszak had a career-high 37 points in a losing effort for Karns City (11-9, 7-2).

The teams combined for 25 points in overtime with Moniteau outscoring Karns City 13-12 in the four-minute extra session.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 50, KEYSTONE 34

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Ethan Riley had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Punxsutawney to a 50-34 non-conference win over visiting Keystone Monday.

Alex Graf had 14 points to lead the Panthers.
