BROCKWAY 40, COUDERSPORT 33
COUDERSPORT, Pa. – In what Brockway head coach Dick Esposito labeled as the program’s biggest win in 10 years, the visiting Lady Rovers rallied from a 15-point third-quarter deficit to stun Coudersport, 40-33.
Trailing 30-15 halfway through the third quarter, Brockway ended the quarter on a 10-0 sput that quickly turned into a 26-3 game-ending run to pull out the victory.
Ciara Morelli hit a shot with 1:40 to play to put the Lady Rovers in the lead for good, 33-31, and Brockway hit 8 of 9 free throws to seal the win.
In fact, the Lady Rovers scored 13 of their 15 fourth-quarter points from the free-throw line going 13 of 18 from the line in the fourth quarter.
Danielle Wood led Brockway with 15 points and five steals, Morgan Lindemuth added nine points and eight rebounds, Selena Buttery had six points and 15 rebounds and Morelli chipped in six points and five rebounds.
The win improved the Lady Rovers to 7-5 on the season after winning just three games last year.
Coudersport, which lost for just the second time this season, got 12 points from Sarah Chambers and 11 from Rosalyn Page.
ST. MARYS 50, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 29
ST. MARYS, Pa. – Ten different St. Marys players scored, as the Lady Dutch cruised to a 50-29 win over visiting Elk County Catholic in D9 League action.
Samantha Hayes led the balanced attack with nine points with Kaylee Muccio scoring seven and Kyla Johnson, Megan Quesenberry and Giorgia Baciga six each.
Taylor Newton had a game-high 16 points to go with 13 rebounds for ECC.
OTTO-ELDRED 48, GALETON 21
DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Kayley Heller led a balanced offensive effort for Otto-Eldred with 10 points, as the homestanding Lady Terrors downed Galeton, 48-21.
Bri Heller added seven points, seven rebounds and four steals for O-E, while Katie Sheeler had six points, five rebounds, four steals and four assists, Jadelyn Spinney six points and Hannah Gordon four points and seven rebounds.
Cara Parsell paced Galeton with nine points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots.
