UNION 56, MONITEAU 54
RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Union built a nine-point halftime lead and then held off a second-half comeback by visiting Moniteau to gain a 56-54 KSAC South victory.
The Golden Damsels led 35-26 at the break before being outscored 28-21 in the second half including 18-15 in the fourth quarter.
Moniteau had a couple of shots to tie the game at the end but couldn’t get one to fall.
Freshman Dominika Logue scored a career-high 29 points for Union and went 5 of 6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter while netting 10 fourth-quarter points.
Marli Hawk and Maggie Minick each added eight points for the Golden Damsels.
Aslyn Pry had a double-double for Moniteau with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kristin Auvil added 15 points and Andie Arblaster and Ivie Scott seven each.
A-C VALLEY 65, KEYSTONE 37
FOXBURG, Pa.- A balanced scoring attack guided A-C Valley to a 65-37 victory over Keystone in KSAC South action.
Cami McNany led all scorers with 22 points, Olivia Boocks added 19 points and Kylee Eaton chipped in 12.
Emily Lauer paced Keystone with 14 points while Kenzie Hovis posted eight tallies.
With the win, the Lady Falcons open up a two-game lead in their quest for a second straight KSAC South title.
JOHNSONBURG 41, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 34
ST. MARYS, Pa. – Maria Jones posted a game-high 19 points to lead Johnsonburg to a 41-34 road victory over Elk County Catholic in AML action.
Cassidy King was also in double figures for the Ramettes finishing with 11 tallies.
Taylor Newton guided ECC with 14 points and eight rebounds with Sady VanAlstine chipping in nine points.
The Lady Crusaders cut the Ramette lead down to five with two minutes left, but clutch free throws down the stretch sealed the victory for the visitors.
DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 50, RIDGWAY 31
RIDGWAY, Pa.- Thanks to Shay Gulvas scoring a game-high 16 points, DuBois Central Catholic picked up a 50-31 road victory over Ridgway in a battle for first place in the AML South.
Abby Pettenati netted eight points while Ashley Wruble chipped in seven for the Lady Cardinals.
Ridgway’s Gabby Rohr stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds and two steals. Casey Woodford also contributed six points, four rebounds and three steals while Alyssa Kazmerski added five points and nine rebounds for the Lady Elkers.
PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 56, CLEARFIELD 45
PHILLIPSBURG, Pa.- Halle Harrington scored 32 points to guide Philipsburg-Osceola to a 56-45 victory over visiting Clearfield in Mountain League action.
Cassidy Hughes and Kyleigh Kennedy each chipped in seven points.
Alayna Ryan had a team-high 14 points for Clearfield while Olivia Bender added 10.
KANE 63, SHEFFIELD 13
SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Hannah Brown’s career-high 20 points helped Kane to a 63-13 win at Sheffield in AML action.
Brown hit 6 of 8 3-pointers on her way to the game-high.
Ella Marconi added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Wolves with Emily Bucheit dishing out six assists to go with nine points and Emma Ely scoring six points and coming away with four steals.
Three players each scored four points for Sheffield.
CURWENSVILLE 45, BROCKWAY 40
BROCKWAY, Pa. – Despite not scoring a field goal in the fourth quarter, visiting Curwensville hung on for a 45-40 win over Brockway in AML action.
The Lady Tide led 39-32 going to the fourth quarter and scored all six of their points in the final eight minutes from the free-throw line with Madi Weber scoring four of those on her way to a game-high 20 points.
Jordan Witherite and Briana Swindell each added seven points for Curwensville.
Brockway, which managed just one made shot – a 3-pointers from Selena Buttery – in the fourth quarter itself, got 16 points from Morgan Lindemuth and 11 from Danielle Wood. Buttery chipped in five points and a team-high 14 rebounds.
REDBANK VALLEY 35, KARNS CITY 31
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Tara Hinderliter scored a game-high 21 points to help Redbank Valley hold off visiting Karns City, 35-31.
Lauren Smith added 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs with Adriana Schilling scoring the other four.
Emma Johns paced Karns City with 12 points and Brooke Manuel scored seven.
CLARION 57, CLARION-LIMESTONE 27
STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Behind 15 KK Girvan points, Clarion rolled to a 57-27 KSAC North road win over rival Clarion-Limestone.
Kait Constantino (11 points) and Wendy Beveridge (10 points) also reached double digits for the Lady Cats. Ava Cherico chipped in seven tallies.
Francis Milliron scored nine points for C-L with Emma Smith adding seven.
OSWAYO VALLEY 37, GALETON 35
GALETON, Pa. – Karina West and McKenzie Gross combined for 26 points as visiting Oswayo Valley held off Galeton, 37-35.
West netted 15 points with Gross adding 11 for the Lady Panthers, who led 19-12 at halftime and 26-21 going the fourth quarter.
Kate Pagano had 15 points for Galton with Cara Parsell recording a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.
BRADFORD 51, CAMERON COUNTY 33
BRADFORD, Pa. – Hannah Lary scored 18 points to lead Bradford to a 51-33 win over visiting Cameron County.
Erica Marshall added eight points in the win for the Lady Owls with Mackenzie Maley scoring seven.
Kamme Guisto and Laila Smith each netted seven points for Cameron County.
NORTH CLARION 71, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 29
TIDIOUTE, Pa. – Abby Gatesman and Cierah Manross each had double-doubles to help visiting North Clarion roll past Tidioute Charter, 71-29.
Gatesman recorded a game-high 16 points to go with 11 rebounds with Manross adding 11 points and 10 boards.
Also for North Clarion, Mackenzie Bauer dished out 10 assists and scored six points, Gabby Carll had eight points and five steals and Gabby Schmader scored 11 points.
