SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. – Riding a five-game win streak, Moniteau maintains the top spot in the Jan. 29 District 9 Girls’ Basketball Power Ratings.

Jan. 29 Boys’ Power Ratings

The Lady Warriors (15-2), who went 2-0 last week, are joined in the Top Five by No. 2 Coudersport (14-1), No. 3 Punxsutawney (12-3), No. 4 North Clarion (14-2) and No. 5 Karns City (11-5).

There are three new entrants to the ratings this week with Ridgway (6-10) coming in at No. 13 having won three straight, St. Marys (9-7) in a tie for No. 14 with DuBois Central Catholic (12-6) and Keystone (7-9) at No. 15 having also won three straight.

Power ratings are different from rankings in that a power rating the rating is based on current events which means while previous performances and results are taken into consideration they are not the end all be all of how a team is performing in a particular week whereas a ranking is based on a team’s entire body of work. Because the rankings/power ratings are not used to determine playoff positions or seeings in District 9, we have decided to go to a power rating system to better reflect how a team is currently performing.
