CURWENSVILLE 60, JOHNSONBURG 47

JOHNSONBURG – The Curwensville Lady Golden Tide, behind a game high 28 points from Ciarra Strickland, knocked off the Johnsonburg Ramettes 60-47 Tuesday night at Johnsonburg Area High School.

Strickland had help from two other players, Shauna Guy and Kayli Sedgewick, who scored 12 and 11 points respectively. Strickland’s point total included 3 three-pointers. The trio combined for 51 of Curwensville’s 60 points.

Nicole Myers was the only player in double digits for the Ramettes, scoring 13 points. Taylor Wolfe and Ashley Imbrogno both finished with 8 points each and Ashton Watts tossed in 6. Imbrogno also grabbed 9 rebounds while Wolfe and Watts both ended the game with 7 each.

Johnsonburg (2-6 , 1-2 AML) returns to action Friday night when they travel to Dubois to take on the Lady Cardinals from Dubois Catholic in an Allegheny Mountain League crossover matchup.

Curwensville (5-3 , 3-1 AML) travel to Harmony Friday night in a non-league contest.

Game notes: The Ramettes shooting woes continued as they finished 19 of 81 (23%) from the field and 7 of 17 (41%) from the charity stripe.Johnsonburg committed a season low 24 turnovers, but had 14 steals.Brianna Quiggle scored her first varsity points.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 45, KANE 34

KANE, Pa. – Riley Assalone scored 18 points to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to a 45-34 win over Kane Tuesday night.

The Lady Cardinals trailed 22-15 at halftime after being outscored 14-6 in the first quarter but turned the game arround with a 15-4 advantage in the thrid quarter.

Jordan Frank added 10 points for DCC, while Camyrn Cummings led Kane with 15 points and Trinity Clark 13 points and 10 rebounds. .

“This was a very frustrating loss,” Kane head coach Dave Kiehl said. “Third quarters are killing us. This is the third game we have lost where the third quarter cost us the game.”

DUBOIS 59, ST. MARYS 47

DUBOIS, Pa. – Behind 21 points from Taylore Upinger, DuBois knocked off visiting St. Marys 59-47 in D9 League action Tuesday.

Upinger hit seven shots from the floor and went 7 of 9 from the free-throw line in the win.

Dayna DeSalve added 15 points for the Lady Beavers, while Courtney Chandler had 11.

No St. Marys information was available from this game.

RIDGWAY 50, SHEFFIELD 25

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Hannah Park, Kiersten Hinton and Jess Kifer combined to score 34 points to lead Ridgway to a 50-25 win over Sheffield Tuesday night in Sheffield.

Park led the Elkers with 14 points, while Hinton and Kifer each addded 10. Emily Fullem chipped in with eight poitns, Gabrielle Barclay had five and Tonya Harlan three.
