Kane Grad Kibbie of Edinboro Named PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Josh Kibbie, a Kane graduate playing for Edinboro, was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Player of the Week Monday. Kibbie, a redshirt senior nose guard played a key role in Fighting Scots’ 37-35 last-second win at Slippery Rock Saturday. He had 10 tackles, seven solo, including 5 1/2 tackles for a loss totaling 31 yards while tying his career with 2 1/2 sacks. Kibbie also forced a fumble that Edinboro recovered.

On the year, Kibbie is fourth on the team in tackles with 40 and second in tackles for a loss (14) and sacks (5 1/2).

After finishing 0-11 last year, Edinboro, which features for Kane graduates (Sean Rolick is a senior wide receiver while his twin brothers, Shane and Tyler, are red-shirting this season) is 7-1 under first-year head coach Justin Lustig. The Fighting Scots are seventh in the latest NCAA Super Region ranking released Monday and also were in “others receiving votes” in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Their lone loss came to IUP, which is ranked fifth in the Super Region and 12th in the AFCA poll after beating Clarion, 42-17, Saturday.
