KARNS CITY, Pa. – Karns City wide receiver/tight end/defensive end Logan Moroney announced on Twitter today that he has committed to play football at Robert Morris, located in Moon Township near the Allegheny County Airport.
“Just committed to Robert Morris to play football,” Moroney tweeted out Saturday. “Big thanks to district 9, my family, friends, teammates and coaches! #blessed”
Moroney helped lead Karns City to District 9 Class AA titles in each of the last three years and PIAA playoff victories in each of the last two.
He caught a team-high 26 balls this season for 324 yards and four touchdowns while making 23 tackles on defense with 2 ½ sacks and an interception.
The 6-foot-3, 205 pounder had 34 catches for 571 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior while making 25 tackles on defense with 3 ½ sacks.
Moroney, who elected not to play basketball this year, was also an All American Awards & Engraving/D9Sports.com District 9 All-District basketball player in 2014.
Robert Morris, coached by former Pittsburgh Steelers John Banaszak, a three-time Super Bowl champion, plays in the Northeast Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FBS) – the former NCAA Division I-AA. The Colonials went 1-10 last year.
