Kennedy Catholic ends one of most successful season in North Clarion girls’ hoops history

FARRELL, Pa. – District 10 champion Kennedy Catholic raced out to a 12-point lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back bringing an end to one of the most successful season in North Clarion history with a 54-32 win over the She-Wolves in the opening round of the PIAA Class A girls’ basketball playoffs Saturday afternoon at Farrell High School.  

The Lady Eagles (20-4) led 18-6 at the end of the first quarter and expanded the lead to 31-14 by halftime.

Eight different Kennedy Catholic players scored led by 11 poins each from Raygen Fischer, who hit three 3-pointers, and Gillian Fischer. Sophia Berardi added 10 points and KayKay Shannonhouse eight.

Tori Obenrader pace North Clarion (22-5), which was making just the second PIAA playoff appearance in school history, with 11 points and 17 rebounds, her 24th double-double of the season. Obenrader finished the year averaging a double-double of 16.4 ppg and 16.6 rpg while recording at least 15 rebounds 18 times while topping 20 four times.

Abbie Schmader added nine points and three rebounds and just missed averaging a season double-double scoring 17.9 ppg to go with 9.7 rpg.
