Listen Live: D9 Playoff Volleyball Northern Potter at Cranberry (Airtime: 6:20 p.m.)

SENECA, Pa.  – It’s playoff time in District 9 volleyball, and we have you covered with the exploreRadio Volleyball Game of the Week featuring 13th-seeded Northern Potter making the long trip to Cranberry to take on the fourth-seeded Berries Thursday night.

Airtime for the 6:30 p.m. Class 1A first-round match will be at 6:20 p.m. with Mike Kalinowski and Chris Rossetti on the call.

Cranberry enters the postseason at 14-2, while Northern Potter is 5-11. The Berries were last in action Monday beating A-C Valley, 3-2, while Northern Potter is coming off a 3-0 win over Cowenesque Valley Oct. 16.

Top players for the Berries include hitters Ava Ferringer and Abby Hanna and setter Emily Duncan.

Top players for the Lady Panthers include Savannah Herring, Madison Hoopes, Courtney Martin and Faith Zdrojewski.

Last year, Cranberry defeated DuBois Central Catholic and Johnsonburg in the District 9 Class 1A playoffs before losing to runner-up Ridgway in the semifinals. This is Northern Potter’s first playoff appearance since a 3-0 first-round loss to Elk County Catholic in 2015.

The winner of Thursday’s night’s matchup will get the winner of the Union at Oswayo Valley match Tuesday, Oct. 29. If Cranberry wins, the match will be a Cranberry. If Northern Potter wins, the match will be at the winner of the Oswayo Valley/Union match.
