KARNS CITY, Pa. – A rematch of last year’s District 9 Class 2A boys’ consolation game that went to overtime will take place Friday night in Karns City when the Gremlins host Keystone on Laurel Eye Clinic high school basketball presented by EYT Media/D9Sports.com.

A year ago, the Panthers edged the Gremlins in the KSAC South race and then beat Karns City in overtime to win earn a spot in the PIAA playoffs.
This year some of the names have changed but many of the players are familiar in a matchup that will tip-off at approximately 7:30 p.m. or about 20 to 25 minutes after the conclusion of the junior varsity content.
Dustin Kifer and Bob “The Governor” Dunkle will have the call of the game with Jess Quinn providing in-game insight and Chris Rossetti handling the pre- and post-game interviews. Then Quinn and Rossetti will have the first installment of the “Coach and the Scribe” show after the game where they will do a video that will be posted later about their thoughts on the contest.
The Kerle Tire Pregame Show from Karns City will start at 7 p.m.
Both teams come into the game at 1-0 in KSAC South play and 2-1 on the season.
Keystone is using a balanced attack that is led by Troy Johnson (9.3 ppg), Brandon Pierce (7.3 ppg) and Marc Rearick (6.3 ppg).
Karns City, which is currently without star forward Nathan Waltman, is relying on guard Chase Beighley (25.0 ppg) to lead the way with Ethan McElroy adding 10.7 ppg and Micah Rupp 8.7 ppg.
