BASEBALL

COUDERSPORT 11, GALETON 0, 5 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Kolby VanWhy and Jackson Glover combined on a five-inning no-hitter to lead Coudersport to an 11-0, five-inning win over visiting Galeton.

VanWhy got the win going four innings walking three and striking out seven. Glover pitched a scoreless fifth striking out one.

Glover also had one of four extra-base hits for the Falcons going 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored. VanWhy also helped his own caused going 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Also doubling for the Falcons were Owen Chambers (1-for-3, 2 R, 1 RBI) and Blake Burgett (1-for-2, 1 RBI), while Eli Ayers (2-for-2, 2 R, 2 RBIs) had a triple. Kullen Crosby also scored twice for Coudersport with Jacob Pitcher going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

OTTO-ELDRED 4, PORT ALLEGANY 0

DUKES CENTER, Pa. – Cole Sebastian and Tommy VanScoter each had a pair hits to lead Otto-Eldred to a 4-0 win over visiting Port Allegany.

Cameron Magee went 1-for-2 with a run scored and RBI while Jacob Merry and Chris Connelly each chipped in a run scored for the Terrors. Chase Sebastian added a double and scored a run.

Port Allegany managed four hits that came from River Cramer, Carter Moss, Drew Benson and Howie Stuckey.

Chase Sebastian and Cole Sebastian combined for the shutout. Chase Sebastian struck out seven and allowed two hits in 2 ⅔ innings on the mound. Cole Sebastian struck out eight and allowed one hit in four innings.

Stuckey took the loss and struck out eight and allowed one hit for Port Allegany. Josh Reese gave up five hits and struck out three in two innings on the mound.

BROCKWAY 7, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 5

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Brockway used a balanced team effort to defeat visiting Elk County Catholic, 7-5.

Zane Puhala, Clayton Heckman and Dominic Inzana each scored two runs for the Rovers. Conner Ford drove in three runs for Brockway with Tyler Serafini adding a pair of RBIs.

Dan Wimer paced the Crusaders going 2-for-2 with an RBI while Tylor Herzing went 2-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs.

Serafini got the win for the Rovers striking out five while allowing nine hits and five runs in 6 ⅔ innings of work. Santino Inzana picked up the save striking out the only batter he faced.

Taylor Borland and Will Uberti combined to give up one hit and seven runs while walking seven and striking out six for ECC.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 8, CURWENSVILLE 2

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Garrett Prosper, Noah Bloom and Damon Foster each drove in two runs to lead visiting DuBois Central Catholic to an 8-2 win over Curwensville.

Prosper was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored with Bloom going 1-for-3 and Foster 1-for-3 with a run scored. Brandon Walker added a double for the Cardinals while going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Domenic Toretti got the win in relief pitching 4 ⅔ innings allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out three.

Avery Francisco had the lone RBI for Curwensville going 1-for-3 with a walk, while Jake Mullins (1-for-4) and Adam Straw scored the runs for the Golden Tide.

Noah VonGunden took the loss allowing seven runs, five earned, on six hits and three walks in two innings of relief.

SOFTBALL

INDIANA 5, DUBOIS 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Five different players scored runs to help visiting Indiana defeat DuBois, 5-0.

Cleo McMahan led the Lady Indians going 3-for-3 including a triple and a run scored. Sara Zimmerman went 2-for-4 with a run and Alexis Bonatch scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lexi Smith paced the Lady Beavers with a triple and Cate Gregory went 2-for-2.

Haleigh Zimmerman got the win for Indiana allowing four hits while striking out five.

Aleigha Geer took the loss giving up nine hits and four runs in four innings in the circle for DuBois.

BUCKTAIL 10, CAMERON COUNTY 0

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Despite two hits from Alyvia McKimm, Cameron County fell to visiting Bucktail, 10-0.

Jordan Burrows led Bucktail going 3-for-3 scoring two runs scored and adding an RBI. Emma Poorman drove in four runs and Myka Poorman scored twice.

Ashlea Burgett and Kelsee Reid each had a hit for the Lady Raiders.

Myka Poorman earned the win for Bucktail striking out three and allowing four hits in the circle.

Laila Smith gave up nine hits in the loss for Cameron County.

OTTO-ELDRED 15, PORT ALLEGANY 0, 4 INNINGS

DUKES CENTER, Pa. – Thanks to a home run and three RBIs from Autumn Smith, Otto-Eldred defeated visiting Port Allegany, 15-0, in four innings.

Smith went 3-for-4 and added a double for the Lady Terrors. Harlee VanScooter also hit a home run and Gabby Nickerson went 3-for-4 while driving in a run.

Jade Evens had single for Port Allegany.

Abby Wolfe got the win for Otto-Eldred allowing two hits and striking out four.

Evens gave up 11 hits and struck out three in the loss for the Lady Gators.

BALD EAGLE 17, CLEARFIELD 2

HYDE, Pa. – Bald Eagle scored 16 unanswered runs after falling behind 2-1 in the first inning to defeat Clearfield, 17-2.

Madison Peters went 3-for-5 for Bald Eagle and drove in three runs. Makena Baney and Mara Hockenberry each had a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs.

Kayleigh Kinley, Madison Perry, Marina Shawley and Peter all hit home runs for the Lady Eagles.

Emma Hipps tallied a home run in the first inning which also scored Karley Rumsky in for the only two runs for Clearfield.

Hipps took the loss for Clearfield giving up 12 hits while striking out seven.

Peters gave up one hit, the home run, and struck out eight in the win for Bald Eagle.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 16, CURWENSVILLE 1, 3 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Shay Gulvas and Ashley Wruble each scored three runs to help DuBois Central Catholic roll past visiting Curwensville, 16-1, in three innings.

Gulvas had a double and reached twice on errors while scoring three times, while Wruble was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and the three runs scored.

Carley Semancik added a pair of singles, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lady Cardinals with Jordy Kosko going 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored and Mia Meholik chipping in a double and an RBI.

Morgan Tyler got the win going three no-hit innings allowing one unearned run on four walks while striking out six.

KARNS CITY 10, SHARON 1

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Emily Wolfe scored three runs to help Karns City defeat visiting Sharon, 10-1.

Wolfe went 3-for-3. Alyssa Stitt and Kate Allen chipped in for a pair of runs scored while Mackenzie Dunn and Taylor Ekis each drove in two runs.

Ellie McCombs scored the lone run for Sharon thanks to Maddie Berksons’ lone hit.

Logan Byers allowed two hits and struck out five in the win for Karns City.

Berkson took the loss for Sharon allowing seven hits and 10 runs while striking out three.

COUDERSPORT 20, GALETON 7, 5 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Chelsey Streich went 2-for-3 with five runs scored and two RBIs to lift Coudersport past visiting Galeton, 20-7, in five innings.

Paiton Whipple also went 3-for-3 and scored three times while adding three RBIs for the Lady Falcons with Emma Saulter hitting a triple and scoring three times and Shaelyn Black and Claudia Miller chipping in four RBIs apiece.

Regan Fuller paced the Lady Tigers with a triple and three RBIs.

Black earned the victory striking out six and allowing five hits for Coudersport.

Fuller took the loss for Galeton.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 18, BROCKWAY 2, 3 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Fueled by an 11-run second inning, Elk County Catholic cruised to an 18-2, three-inning victory over visiting Brockway.

Grace Stewart, Morgan Wolf and Ellie Fledderman each had a double for the Lady Crusaders with Kathryn Kirst adding a triple.

Elizabeth Anderson scored three runs in the win with Fledderman, who was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, driving in five runs. Hannah Barnett and Wolf also added two RBIs each with Wolf going 1-for-1 with two runs scored and Barnett adding a run scored. Michelle Gerber and Jenna Weisner each scored twice as well with Weisner going 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Morgan Lindemuth and Grace Stewart scored runs for Brockway with Mackenzie Overbeck and Madalynne Heckman collecting singles and RBIs.

Gerber got the win going two hitless innings striking out four.

Lindemuth took the loss.

JOHNSONBURG 18, SHEFFIELD 0, 3 INNINGS

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Riding a 12-run first inning Johnsonburg cruised past visiting Sheffield, 18-0, in three innings.

Extra-base hits abounded for the Ramettes, who collected three triples and five doubles.

Jenna Pavlock led the way going 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, two runs scored and four RBIs.

Lindsey Kocjancic was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, three runs scored and three RBIs, while Jordan Bundy was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI. Maria Jones was also 3-for-3 with Michaela Herzing going 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Peyton Delhunty going 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs, Haylee Zimmerman adding a triple and two runs scored and Alexa Mahoney scoring three times.

Tori Childress had Sheffield’s lone hit, while Marissa Grubbs stole a pair of bases.

Jones got the win going three innings allowing one hit and a walk while striking out five.
