CLARION 8, A-C VALLEY 1

CLARION, Pa. – Kait Constantino and Carly Best combined to go 8-for-8 with five runs scored and three RBIs to help Clarion hand visiting A-C Valley its first loss, 8-1.

Constantino, hitting out of the leadoff spot, was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI, and was also the winning pitcher allowing one unearned run on six hits, two walks and a hit batter while striking out 11.

She talked about the victory.

Best, batting directly behind Constantino, was 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs in the win.

Tori Vega had a big two-out, bases-loaded single in the first inning after the Lady Cats had loaded the bases with no outs but were nearly shut down from scoring in the inning. The single was followed by a run-scoring hit from Payton Simko that made it 3-0 after one, and Clarion led 5-0 after two. Simko was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

A-C Valley’s lone run came in the seventh when Emily Wetzel singled with one out, stole second and scored when the throw went into center field.

Cami McNany led the Lady Falcons going 2-for-3 while also being hit by a pitch.

Syndie Schmidt took the loss going 1 ⅓ innings allowing five runs, two earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out two. Baylee Blauser gave up three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six in 4 ⅔ innings.

KARNS CITY 15, CLARION-LIMESTONE 0, 4 INNINGS

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Kate Allen and Mackenzie Dunn each homered, and visiting Karns City used a 10-run third inning to claim a 15-0, four-inning win over Clarion-Limestone.

Allen was 3-for-3 on the day with two runs scored and four RBIs, while Dunn went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Alyssa Stitt also drove in three runs for the Lady Gremlins and was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, Ashley Fox was 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs, Katie Neff was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs, Zoe King went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Taylor Ekis was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two runs scored, Garrah Milochik was 2-for-3 with a double, Emily Wolfe was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored and Megan Whitmire scored twice.

Logan Byers, meanwhile, tossed a three-hit shutout striking out one.

Abby Himes, Abby Carl and Karleigh Aaron had singles for C-L. Reagan Husted suffered the loss.

CRANBERRY 14, MONITEAU 1, 5 INNINGS

SENECA, Pa. – Using a six-run first 0 as a springboard, Cranberry bounced back from a two-game losing streak to plaster visiting Moniteau, 14-1 in five innings.

Emily Duncan hit a two-run home run in the six-run first and also added a triple in the game while going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs.

Rachel McCauley was also 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs for the Berries with Megan Hadden going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, three runs scored and an RBI and Andrea Watson going 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

Cassidy Claypoole was 3-for-3 for Moniteau, while Taylor Thomas drove in Lexi Miller.

Watson got the win going five innings allowing one earned run on five hits and three walks while striking out two.

Courtney Stewart took the loss.

GLENDALE 13, CURWENSVILLE 3, 6 INNINGS

FLINTON, Pa. – Alaney Vereshack went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and four RBIs to lift Glendale toa 13-3, six-inning win over visiting Curwensville.

Chloe McElheny also went deep for the Lady Vikings and was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI with Olivia Reese going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs and Madison Lukehart going 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Lexi Mulhollen added a double, two walks and three runs scored.

Taylor Luzier was 2-for-3 for Curwensville with Joslynne Freyer adding an RBI. Logan Sheeder, Ally Hess and Bella Giuffre each scored runs for the Lady Tide.

Kyla Campbell got the win going four scoreless innings allowing two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Fryer took the loss, although on four of the 13 runs charged against her were earned. She gave up 10 hits and three walks and struck out three.

WILLIAMSPORT 6, DUBOIS 5

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Williamsport scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to edge visiting DuBois, 6-5.

Kylie Segraves led the Millionaires going 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs, while Kathryn Meale was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and an RBI and Nicole Belton was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Taylor Smith led DuBois going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Sarah Henninger was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI Janee Walker was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Maddy Ho was also 3-for-4 with a run scored, and Saige Weibel was 2-for-4.

Lynna Roberton got the win going seven innings and allowing five runs, four earned, on 14 hits while striking out six.

Weibel took the loss giving up six runs, five earned, on nine hits and five walks while striking out one in six innings of work.

FOREST AREA 14, UNION 4, 6 INNINGS

TIONESTA, Pa. – Catelynne Boehme went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lift Forest Area to a 14-4, six-inning win over visiting Union.

Natalie Meyers added a 2-for-2 performance with two doubles and an RBI for the Fires.

Jasmine Ginnery got the win allowing four runs on seven hits. She walked four and struck out two.

Rylie Colligan had a double and two RBIs for Union with Katelyn Clinger also picking up a double.

Kira Marsh took the loss in relief of Sierra Salvo. Salvo gave up two runs on six hits and five walks while striking out five in 3 ⅓ innings.

Union led 4-2 going to the fifth but Forest Area scored four in the fifth and then ended the game with an eight-run sixth.

REDBANK VALLEY 4, WEST SHAMOKIN 3

RURAL VALLEY, Pa. – A strong outing in the circle from Montana Hetrick helped visiting Redbank Valley to a 4-3 win over West Shamokin.

Hetrick went seven innings allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits and three walks while striking out eight. She helped herself at the plate going 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Becca Kunselman was 2-for-2 for the Lady Bulldogs with an RBI.

Sierra Patterson was 1-for-4 with an RBI for West Shamokin.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 15, BROOKVILLE 1, 5 INNINGS

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Kendal Johnston and Holly Hartman each drove in a pair of runs to lead Punxsutawney to a 15-1, five-inning victory over visiting Brookville.

Johnston went 2-for-3 including a double and run scored while Hartman went 1-for-1 with three runs scored for the Lady Chucks. Allie Meko had a home run and drove in two scores and Grace Aikens went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Sarah Weaver singled and had three runs scored.

Aleah Ames and Carlie McMangle each singled to pace the Lady Raiders offense. McMangle drove in the lone run scored by Lauren Hergert.

Elliott Ferrent got the win for Punxsutawney striking out eight batters and giving up one run on two hits.

McMangle had two strikeouts in the loss for Brookville.

BROCKWAY SWEEPS SHEFFIELD

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Brockway swept a doubleheader at Sheffield winning Game One, 13-8, and Game Two, 9-6.

In the opener, Brockway scored five times in the top of the seventh to get the win.

Emily Botwright, Morgan Lindemuth, Mackenzie Overbeck each drove in three runs for the Lady Rovers.

Botwright was 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored, Lindemuth was 1-for-4 with a run scored and Overbeck was 3-for-3 with a triple, two walks and a run scored.

Also for Brockway in that game, Madalynne Heckman went 2-for-5 with a run scored, Maggie Schmader was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored and Madison Barefield was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored.

In the second game, Overbeck and Schmader each had two RBIs for the Lady Rovers with Overbeck going 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run scored and Schmader going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored.

Also for Brockway, Botwright was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored and Lindemuth was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and two runs scored.

GALETON 12, PORT ALLEGANY 0, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Galeton used a seven-run first inning to earn a 12-0, five-inning victory over Port Allegany.

Jessie Evans went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored for the Lady Tigers. Haylee Ludington had two RBIs and Cara Parsell singled with a run scored and an RBI. Brielle Kalacinski and Katie Pagano each had two runs scored.

Callie Barnett and Jade Evens each singled to pace the Lady Gators offense.

Regan Fuller gave up two hits and had seven strikeouts in the win for Galeton.

Evens had a strikeout and took the loss for Port Allegany.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 11, JOHNSONBURG 8, 8 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Katharine Kirst sac fly in the top of the eighth inning broke an eight-all tie, and Elizabeth Anderson followed with a two-run single to lift Elk County Catholic to an 11-8, eight-inning victory over Johnsonburg in the opening round of the Elk County Tournament in St. Marys.

Johnsonburg trailed 8-3 going to the bottom of the seventh but scored five in the inning to force extra innings. Julie Peterson’s two-run single with two outs in the seventh tied the game at eight.

Ellie Fledderman and Jenna Weisner combined to drive in seven runs in the win for ECC with Fledderman going 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and four RBIs and Weisner going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs.

Anderson was also 3-for-5 with the two RBIs, while Morgan Wolf went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three runs scored and Sady VanAlstine was 2-for-5 with three runs scored.

Haylee Zimmerman was 2-for-5 with a double and a triple, a run scored and two RBIs for Johnsonburg. Michaela Herzing was also 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs with Isabella Galbo going 2-for-3 with an RBI, Peyton Delhunty going 2-for-4 with a double and run scored, Jenna Pavlock was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored and Alyssa Kasmerski going 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Michelle Gerber got the win going eight innings allowing eight runs, seven earned, on 12 hits and two walks while striking out five.

Peterson took the loss going seven innings in relief allowing nine runs, seven earned, on 15 hits and three walks while striking out four. Jordan Bundy went an inning for Johnsonburg giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk while striking out one.

ST. MARYS 7, CAMERON COUNTY 6

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Janelle Krug scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning, as St. Marys beat Cameron County, 7-6, in the opening round of the Elk County Tournament in St. Marys.

The Lady Raiders led 6-3 after 5 ½ innings, but St. Marys scored three times in the sixth to tie the game at six.

A two-run, two-out double by Britney Shaw was the big hit of the inning and knotted the game up.

Shaw was 1-for-4 in the game, as nine different Lady Dutch players accounted for the 10 St. Marys’ hits.

Tessa Grotzinger was the lone St. Marys player with multiple hits going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Pete Schlimm added a double for the Lady Dutch, while Maura Fledderman had a triple and Brianna Grotzinger hit a solo home run.

Taylor Lamont was 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs for Cameron County, while Laila Smith went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Taylor Britton and Alyvia McKimm each added a double, a run scored and an RBI for the Lady Raiders. also had a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Fledderman got the win going seven innings allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits and two walks while striking out 11.

Smith took the loss giving up seven runs, five earned, on 10 hits, three walks and a hit batter while striking out six in 6 ⅓ innings.
