BASEBALL

REDBANK VALLEY 10, NORTH CLARION 9

ALCOA, Pa. – Blaney Brooks single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Hunter Buzard to cap off a five-run seventh, as Redbank Valley rallied for a 10-9 win over visiting North Clarion.

The Bulldogs trailed 9-5 going to the seventh thanks in large part to an 8-run second inning by North Clarion.

But in the seventh, Ethan Wadding started the scoring with an RBI double with one out. Austin Leasure followed with a run-scoring single to make it 9-7, and Nick Smith’s sac fly made it 9-8. Buzard then singled to center to tie the score before stealing second to set up the winning run.

Brooks led the Bulldogs offense going 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Buzard had a pair of hits including a double, a run scored and two RBIs while Leasure singled with a run scored and two RBIs. Ethan Wadding and Logan Wadding each hit a double and each drove in a run with Smith adding a pair of hits, run scored and an RBI.

Korey Mills paced the Wolves with a grand slam in the second inning. Isaac Gilara went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and an RBI while Tyler Wolbert went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Sam Minich had a pair of hits with a run scored and Jacob Bauer singled with an RBI and run scored.

Bryson Bain pitched the last four innings and gave two hits and no runs while striking out three to earn the win for Redbank Valley.

Zyler Hargenrader took the loss for North Clarion giving up three runs on five hits in 2 ⅔ innings of work.

CLARION 9, KARNS CITY 1

BUTLER, Pa. – Skylar Rhoades went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI to help lead Clarion to 9-1 victory over Karns City in Butler with Clarion as the home team.

Christian Simko was also 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Bobcats while Nate Datko went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Cole Slaugenhoup had a pair of hits and an RBI and Calvin German drove in a run. Lake Staub, Drew Wrhen, Chase Kriebel and Noah DiTullio each hit singles and scored a run.

Connor Schaffner had the lone run scored for the Gremlins that was driven in off a Taylor Zellefrow double.

Kriebel struck out 16 batters while giving up one run and a hit to earn the victory for Clarion.

Steve O’Donnell had four strikeouts and took the loss for Karns City.

MONITEAU 15, FOREST AREA 0, 3 INNINGS

BUTLER, Pa. – Jared Lominski went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs to help Moniteau defeat Forest Area, 15-0 in three innings.

Lee DeMatteis had a pair of hits including a triple and three RBIs for the Warriors with Hunter Fitzingo going 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and two RBIs. Chance Nagy singled, scored twice and drove in a run while Zach Smith and Dean Hershey each scored twice. Tyler McFadden had an RBI and run scored and Gage Neal scored three runs.

Mitchell McWilliams doubled for the lone hit of the game for the Fires.

DeMatteis got the win for Moniteau with five strikeouts and one allowed hit.

Bobby Dittman took the loss for Forest Area.

COUDERSPORT 11, PORT ALLEGANY 1, 5 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Coudersport used a seven-run second inning to earn an 11-1, five-inning victory over visiting Port Allegany.

Owen Chambers led the Falcons offense going 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Eli Ayers drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Kolby VanWhy and Jackson Glover each went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Hunter Redmond went 2-for-3 including a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Josh Reese had the lone run scored for the Gators. Drew Benson, Howie Stuckey, Carter Moses and Ethan Sprankle each hit singles. Ian Dynda drove in a run.

Blake Burgett gave up a run on four hits while striking out six to earn the win for Coudersport.

Reese took the loss for Port Allegany.

SOFTBALL

KARNS CITY 2, CLARION 1

KARNS CITY, Pa. – Karns City scored two runs scored in the first inning and held off visiting Clarion for a 2-1 victory.

Alyssa Stitt (1-for-3) and Garrah Milochik (0-for-3) each scored runs for the Lady Gremlins. Stitt and Mackenzie Dunn each doubled while Kate Allen singled and drove in a run.

Kait Constantino scored the lone run for the Lady Cats. Brenna Campbell, Tori Vega and Kylee Beers each had singles.

Logan Byers gave up three hits and one run while striking out six to earn the win for Karns City.

Constantino struck out nine but gave up two runs on four hits in the loss for Clarion.

CURWENSVILLE 11, HARMONY 1, 6 INNINGS

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Joslynne Freyer and Mackenzie Wall combine for eight RBIs to help lift Curwensville over visiting Harmony, 11-1 in six innings.

Freyer went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Lady Tide while Wall went 2-for-4 with a triple. Abby Pentz tripled with a run scored and two RBIs with Logan Sheeder going 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. Bailey Bloom scored four times and Taylor Luzier singled.

Dorey Westover had the lone run scored or the Lady Owls.

Freyer struck out 10 batters while giving up a run on four hits to earn the victory for Curwensville.

Traci Hauser took the loss for Harmony with six strikeouts and seven hits allowed.

GALETON 10, CAMERON COUNTY 4

GALETON, Pa. – Jessie Evans, Maddie Sauley and Cara Parsell each had a pair of hits to help Galeton defeat visiting Cameron County, 10-4.

Kate Kulish singled and drove in two runs to go along with a run scored for the Lady Tigers. Parsell scored twice, Regan Fuller singled, scored a run and drove in a run and Eva Olofson went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Alyvia McKimm paced the Lady Red Raiders offense going 4-for-4. Taylor Britton went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI while Taylor Brittin doubled and scored. Kelsee Reid singled and Laila Smith drove in a run.

Fuller got the win for Galeton throwing nine strikeouts and allowing four runs on nine hits.

Despite 14 strikeouts, Smith took the loss for Cameron County.

OTTO-ELDRED 16, SMETHPORT 1, 3 INNINGS

DUKES CENTER, Pa. – Riley Raught and Harley VanScooter combined for seven RBIs to lift Otto-Eldred over visiting Smethport, 16-1 in three innings.

Raught tripled and drove in four runs for the Lady Terrors while VanScooter also tripled and drove in three runs. Gabby Nickerson added a double.

Lizzy Ruffner singled and scored the lone run for the Lady Hubbers.

Emmalee Sheeler got the win in the circle for Otto-Eldred with two strikeouts and three hits allowed.

Corrine McClain took the loss for Smethport.

A-C VALLEY 12, CLARION-LIMESTONE 0, 5 INNINGS

WEST FREEDOM, Pa. – Cami McNany was 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBIs to help A-C Valley to a 12-0 win over visiting Clarion-Limestone.

McNany hit a two-run home run in the first inning, and in the process recorded her 100th career RBI.

Baylee Blauser was also 2-for-3 with a two-run triple and three runs scored for the Lady Falcons with Andrea Meals going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Meah Ielase was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Ali Girt was 2-for-2 for C-L, while Frances Milliron went 1-for-1.

Blauer picked up the win going four innings allowing three hits and a walk while striking out two. Sydnie Schmidt pitched a scoreless inning as well.
