SOFTBALL

ST. MARYS 22, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, 3 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Maura Flederman hit a pair of home runs and was joined in the roundtrip circle by Pete Schlimm and Britney Shaw, as visiting St. Marys rolled past Elk County Catholic, 22-3, in three innings.

Flederman was 4-for-4 and added a pair of doubles while scoring twice and driving in seven in the win.

Shaw was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs, and Schlimm was 2-for-2 while adding a double, a run scored and two RBIs.

Brianna Grotzinger also drove in three runs for the Lady Dutch while going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Sady VanAlstine was 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI for ECC.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 18, BRADFORD 6, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Sady VanAlstine had four hits, including two doubles, scored three times and drove in a run to help Elk County Catholic beat visiting Bradford, 18-6, in five innings.

Ellie Fledderman was also 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored for the Lady Crusaders, while Rosina Nero was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Emily Warner was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Bradford with Alyssa Hardy adding a pair of hits and two runs scored.

OTTO-ELDRED 15, OSWAYO VALLEY 0, 4 INNINGS

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Autumn Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to help visiting Otto-Eldred to a 15-0, four-inning win over Oswayo Valley.

Gabby Nickerson added a pair of hits, including a double, for the Lady Terrors while Harley VanScoter was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and Britney Greeley was 2-for-2 with three runs scored.

Abby Wolfe got the win allowing one hit and striking out two.

COUDERSPORT SWEEPS PORT ALLEGANY

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Coudersport swept a doubleheader from visiting Port Allegany winning by scores of 13-3 in five innings and 26-9 in six innings.

Paiton Whipple, Shae Black and Addie Myers each drove in two runs in the first game with Whipple going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Myers 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Cailey Barnett had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Gators.

Black got the win giving up three unearned runs on five hits while striking out 13.

A huge game at the plate from Black in the second contest helped lead to the big win.
Black was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and five RBIs.

Whipple and Myers each added a pair of doubles with Whipple going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBIs and Myers going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Claudia Miller was also 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, three runs scored and four RBIs for the Lady Falcons.

Jenna Sprankle was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs for Port Allegany. Barnett had a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 1, CLEARFIELD 0, 8 INNINGS

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Kendal Johnson tossed an eight-inning one-hitter, and Madi Shiock scored on a two-out error on a ball hit by Abby Gigliotti in the bottom of the eight to give Punxsutawney a 1-0 win over visiting Clearfield.

Grace Aikens led off the eight with a double to center before Shiock ran for her.

Johnson hit a batter but didn’t walk anyone while striking out seven to pick up the win.

Emma Hipps gave up only two hits and the unearned run in taking the loss. She also didn’t issue a walk and struck out 13.

BASEBALL

ST. MARYS 9, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Matt Bellina and Nate Beimel combined on a 1-hit shutout, as visiting St. Marys beat Elk County Catholic, 9-0.

Bellina went three hitless innings striking out two before Beimel gave up one hit and two walks while striking out 12 in four innings of relief to get the win.

Jake Meeker and Garrett Bauer each drove in a pair of runs for St. Marys with Bauer hitting a home run and Meeker a double.

CLEARFIELD 8, DUBOIS 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Cade Walker tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Clearfield to an 8-0 road win over DuBois at Showers Field.

Walker walked two and struck out six. He helped himself going 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs.

Harrison Peacock had two hits, including a double, two runs scored and an RBI, and Caullin Reed also had two hits and two RBIs.

CRANBERRY 16, FOREST AREA 2, 5 INNINGS

TIONESTA, Pa. – Behind three RBIs from Trevor Gladin visiting Cranberry rolled to a 16-2, five-inning win over Forest Area.

Gladin had a pair of hits in the game, including a double. Kenny Larvich also added two hits and two RBIs for the Berries.

Larvich got the win going four innings allowing a pair of unearned runs on a hit and a walk while striking out nine.
