
GRINELL, Iowa – Mitch Obenrader, a North Clarion graduate, capped off his remarkable indoor season with the Penn State Behrend men’s track and field team with a fifth-place finish in the NCAA Championships Saturday morning.
Obenrader came into the championships as the eighth-seeded shot put thrower with a qualifying distance of 16.72m (54′ 10.25″), an indoor school record.
On Saturday, he jumped three spots and took home a fifth-place finish at a distance of 16.62m (54′ 6.75″) to claim his first indoor track and field All-American honor.
