SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. – After starting the season ranked No. 2, Clearfield finishes 2018 as the top-ranked team in the Nov. 27, 2018, Allegheny Grille of Foxburg D9Sports.com Football Rankings.
The Bison finished the season 12-1 and are joined in the final rankings of the 2018 season by six teams who didn’t crack the Top 10 in the Aug. 22 Preseason rankings.
The highest of those teams is No. 3 Coudersport (8-5), which is just a spot below Ridgway (11-2), which moved up from No. 9 to No. 2 during the season.
Smethport (11-1), who also wasn’t ranked in the preseason, finishes at No. 4 followed by Brockway (9-3) at No. 5. The Rovers moved up one spot from their preseason rank of sixth.
The backend of the Top 10 sees four teams who were ranked to start the season including No. 6 Clarion-Limestone (9-3), No.7 Moniteau (7-5), No. 9 Curwensville (7-5) and No. 10 Elk County Catholic (7-3). Brookville (6-5) closes at No. 8 after starting the year at No. 1.
