PIAA Track and Field Championships Get Underway Friday

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The PIAA Track and Field Championships get underway Friday at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium and numerous athletes from District 9 and 10 will be competing for state championships.

Here is a schedule of events.

Saturday’s events can be watched live on PCN, which will also offer a virtual reality option for the first time.

A couple of District 9 female athletes are seeded first in their events in Class AA.

Moniteau’s Maura Kimmel is the top seed in the shot put (44-6 1/4) and the discus (144-7), while Redbank Valley’s Brooke Hinderliter is the top seed in the javelin (155-1), an event she won last year.

On the boys’ side in Class AA, Kane’s Shane Rolick is tied for the top seed with Logan Blasiak of Palmerton (14-0), while his twin brother, Tyler Rolick, is tied for the third seed with four other athletes (13-6).

Ryan Kilhoffer of Johnsonburg is the fifth seed in the discus (148-0) in Class AA.
