Player Profile: Alyssa Stitt, Karns City

ALYSSA STITT – SENIOR – KARNS CITY

Daughter of: Michael and Michele Stitt (Dad is the head softball coach at Karns City)
Sports Played: Volleyball, basketball, softball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: Her brother, Evan, played baseball and football and ran track at Karns City.
2017-18 Highlights: She helped Karns City to a second straight District 5-8-9 Class 3A softball title by batting .552 with four home runs, 11 doubles, 33 RBIs and 35 runs scored. A first-team All-KSAC selection in the infield (shortstop), she started the season on a 17-game hitting streak and had 12 multiple-hit games including three contests with three hits. She also drove in a season-high seven runs in a win over A-C Valley. In basketball, she helped the Lady Gremlins to a second-place finish in District 9 Class 3A by averaging 6.5 points per game, which was third on the team. She scored in double digits seven times including a career-high 18 points vs. Redbank Valley.
Post-High School Plans: She plans to attend college and major in criminology. She is hoping to play softball in college but has yet to decide upon a school.

Q&A With Alyssa Stitt

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
AS: My favorite sport to participate in would be softball because I have been playing it my whole life and I have fun with my friends! Also, my dad being the coach makes it so much more enjoyable.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
AS: My favorite moments would be winning the District 5-8-9 championship for softball two years in a row!

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
AS: I play high school sports to gain experience in the sport and to just have fun with my friends! It also keeps me in shape

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
AS: My family has had the most influence on my athletic career because they are at every single game, in whatever sport I’m participating in, cheering me on!

D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
AS: The first sport I played was baseball when I was in T-ball! I played baseball until Minor League and then I switched to softball! I prefer softball over baseball now!

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
AS: I don’t have a favorite number! I just pick the smallest jersey there is but I usually stick with the number I get every year.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
AS: They would be surprised to find out that I am actually a loud person and the one who jokes around the most on the team!

D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
AS: I would eat dinner with Thomas Rhett because he is a perfect husband and is very attractive!

D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
AS: iphone because the photo quality is better!

D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
AS: My go-to would have to be Snapchat because that is where I talk to all of my friends.

D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
AS: The thing I like most about high school is seeing my friends every day.

D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
AS: What I like least about high school would be how early I have to wake up to go to school.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
AS: None
