Player Profile: Korey Mills, North Clarion

KOREY MILLS – SENIOR – NORTH CLARION

Son of: Tim Mills and Isabel Alvarez (stepmom); Patty and Dan Reed (stepdad)
Sports Played: Basketball and Baseball
Family Members Playing/Played Sports: My sister, Abbey Mills played basketball, volleyball, and track and field. Cousin Kyle Mills is also senior on the North Clarion basketball.
2017-18 Highlights: He helped North Clarion to the PIAA playoffs after a third-place finish in District 9 Class 1A basketball by scoring 4.0 ppg. He scored in double digits four times, including a season-high 12 points vs. A-C Valley. Won the Sportsmanship Award in basketball. He also helped North Clarion to a third-place finish in District 9 Class 1A baseball.
Post-High School Plans: I plan on joining either the Army or the Marines.

Q&A With Korey Mills

D9Sports: What is your favorite sport to participate in and why?
KM: My favorite sport to participate in would have to be basketball. I chose basketball because it is very uptempo and keeps you in very good shape.

D9Sports: What is your favorite memory, moment, game from playing high school sports?
KM: My favorite memory so far in my high school career would have to be beating Clarion and C-L last year in basketball.

D9Sports: Why do you play high school sports?
KM: I play high school sports for many different reasons and some are to keep in shape, build friendships and bonds, work together with others and also for the love of the game.

D9Sports: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
KM: I think my mother and my grandparents have influenced me quite a bit throughout my high school career because they go to every single game and keep track of what I do good and what I need to work on and I think that really helps me out in my game.

D9Sports: Do you remember the first sport you played and did you like it right away or did it grow on you?
KM: The first sport I played was baseball I think, but don’t mark my words. I would say I loved it right away but then basketball came along and they go hand in hand for me.

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite number for a uniform? If so, what is the story behind that number?
KM: My favorite number for my uniform would either be 15 or 24. I’d choose 15 because that was my sister’s number throughout her high school career. And I’d also I’d choose 24 because when I was growing up I loved Jeff Gordon, I’d watch every NASCAR race after church and would cheer him on till the end.

D9Sports: What would someone who doesn’t know you be surprised to find out about you?
KM: I eat and drink a lot, pretty much nonstop, Mostly iced tea.

D9Sports: If you could eat dinner with anyone famous (living or dead) who would it be and why?
KM: If I could eat dinner with someone famous it would have to be Shaq. I’d probably pick him just to see how much he could eat.

D9Sports: Iphone or Android or Neither and why?
KM: iPhone only because it was just started being a hit when I was growing up.

D9Sports: What is your go-to Social Media and why?
KM: My go-to social media would have to be Instagram because everyone posts everything they do on there and I think it’s interesting where people go and who they meet.

D9Sports: What do you like most about high school and why?
KM: I like the sports most about high school because they can take your mind off of other distractions in life and make you forget about them.

D9Sports: What do you like least about high school and why?
KM: Thing I least like about high school would be that there aren’t enough 2-hour delays.

D9Sports: What question do you wish I would have asked you? And what is the answer to it?
KM: I wish you would’ve asked me what’s my favorite meal of the day. My favorite meal of the day would have to be breakfast.
