Player Profile: Lexi Holt – Redbank Valley

LEXI HOLT – Junior – Redbank Valley

Daughter of: Denise George and Jamie Holt

Sports Played: Basketball and softball

2015-16 Highlights: Lexi was a key member of both the Lady Bulldogs basketball and softball teams as a sophomore. In softball, she was named a second-team All-KSAC infielder after starting at shortstop for Redbank Valley, which made it to the District 9 Class AA semifinals before falling to eventual state runner-up Moniteau. In hoops, she was the third-leading scorer for Redbank averaging 6.3 points per game to go with 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals (second on the team) and 1.5 assists per game.

Post High School Goals: Holt said she would like to go to college after high school and play softball.

Q&A With Lexi Holt

D9Sports: Do you have a favorite sport, and if so why?
LH: I don’t have a favorite.

D9: What is your best high-school related sports memory and why?
LH: When we made it to states two years ago in basketball because it was a good experience.

D9: Has there been a coach and/or teacher who has influenced you the most in your high-school career to this point, and if so, why?
LH: 8. I think coach Amy (Twigg), my basketball coach, has influenced me the most. She keeps pushing me and never gives up on me.

D9: What do you like best about playing sports in high school?
LH: My favorite part of playing high school sports is being on a team where everyone gets along and we all just click.

D9: What is the hardest part about playing sports in high school?
LH: It’s probably keeping my head up when I make mistakes.

D9: How much offseason work do you put into your sports?
LH: I play softball all year around and basketball, I have summer league and I go to open gyms in the fall.

D9: What is your favorite subject in school?
LH: History

D9: What do you like to do for fun when you aren’t playing sports?
LH: Hang out with friends.

D9: What are your goals for the upcoming school year both sports wise and academically?
LH :I would like to make it to the playoff in both of my sports. Academically, I would like to keep my GPA up.
