The Rovers, who lost to Ridgway twice in the regular season and hadn’t beaten the Elkers since Jan. 8, 2010, (52-49) a streak of 15 straight losses, used the 13-2 run in the second quarter to erase a 14-10 deficit and take a 23-18 lead at halftime.

Then, after Ridgway cut the lead to three, 23-20, at the start of the third quarter the Rovers went on a 16-4 run to break the game open taking a 39-24 lead with 2:29 left in the third quarter.

Brockway’s lead was still 12, 41-29.

Ridgway fought back and cut the deficit to six, 41-35, with 4:48 to go on a Neil MacDonald free throw.

But Brockway responded by ending the game with a 7-2 spurt.

Carter Adams had a solid game for the Rovers with 14 points, eight assists, two rebounds and at least three steals. Quade Lundberg added 10 points with Jarret Esposito adding nine rebounds to go with three points.

Adams talked about the victory.

Daunte Allegretto paced Ridgway with 11 points with Neil MacDonald adding nine.

Brockway plays Coudersport in the District 9 title game at 7:15 p.m. Saturday at Tippin Gym.

Ridgway has a chance to extend its season when it meets Clarion-Limestone in the consolation game at 12:30 p.m. Saturday also at Tippin. The winner of that game moves into the PIAA playoffs with the loser going home.
