VOLLEYBALL
CLEARFIELD 3, CURWENSVILLE 0
HYDE, Pa. – Thanks to four kills apiece from Nikki Broussard and Aspen Bishop, Clearfield dispatched of visiting Curwensville, 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-18).
Brianna Luzier ran the offense with nine set assists while adding three kills, Bella Spingola had eight digs and Sam Carns chipped in with eight digs as well.
Carns, Brianna Luzier, Bishop and Adrian Rowles all played key roles in serving for the Lady Bison as well.
For Curwensville, Anne Hoover and Elizabeth Matthews each had three kills with Hoover adding six digs. Olivia McGary also had three digs for the Lady Tide.
OTTO-ELDRED 3, PORTVILLE (N.Y.) 0
PORTVILLE (N.Y.) – Camryn Thomas and Allison Cousins combined for 23 kills to lead Otto-Eldred to an impressive 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-14) win at Portville (N.Y.)
“Portville had not lost a regular season match in a long time,” Otto-Eldred head coach Jame Thomas said. “And I’m not sure how long it has been since they were swept in three sets. I’m very proud of my girls. They brought their ‘A’ game tonight in every aspect of the game.”
Thomas had a team-high 13 kills to go with seven blocks and five digs for the Lady Terrors with Cousins adding 10 kills, five digs and an ace.
Emily Smith ran the offense with 24 set assists while adding seven blocks, seven digs and three kills. Harlee VanScoter also had three kills, seven digs and five blocks and Rame Hulett chipped in two kills, two blocks, four digs and an ace.
CAMERON COUNTY 3, NORTHERN POTTER 1
ULYSSES, Pa. – Amily Schatz had seven kills to help visiting Cameron County to a 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-16) win over Northern Potter.
Kaitlyn Burgett added seven aces and seven digs for the Lady Raiders with Ashlea Burgett chipping in five set assists.
Kalie Cowburn had 13 kills, six digs and three set assists to pace Northern Potter, while Savannah Herring added five kills, five aces and three digs and Ashley Kunselman chipped in 11 digs, four kills and five aces.
PORT ALLEGANY 3, OSWAYO VALLEY 0
PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Jenna Sprankle had 26 set assists to help Port Allegany to a 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-19) win over visiting Oswayo Valley.
Kiera Keck led the way on the offensive end with nine kills while also adding 13 digs. Kenzie Burr and Hannah Lathrop each had seven kills with Burr adding 19 digs. Erin Stauffer paced the defense with 42 digs.
Shayla Bickle had seven kills and 25 digs for Oswayo Valley with Naomi Cook added six kills, 14 digs and three blocks.
A-C VALLEY 3, WEST MIDDLESEX 0
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Josey Terwilliger recorded 21 kills, 15 digs and two blocks to lead visiting A-C Valley to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-19) win at West Middlesex.
Olivia Boocks chipped in eight kills and 14 digs for the Lady Falcons, who also got five kills and seven digs from Cassie Schwalm.
Syd Rankin (17 set assists, 12 digs), Emily Wetzel (nine set assists, seven digs) and Kaylie Merwin (seven assists, eight digs) ran the offense. Kylee Eaton chipped in 14 digs and three kills.
SMETHPORT 3, AUSTIN 0
AUSTIN, Pa. – Abbey Woodard and Emily Treat combined for 25 kills and 14 digs to help visiting Smethport to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-12) win over Austin.
Woodard had a team-high 15 kills to go with six digs for the Lady Hubbers, while Treat added 10 kills and eight digs. Willow Lathrop chipped in six kills, five digs and five aces and Haleigh Larson had four kills, eight assists and four aces.
For Austin, Jordan Brewer had three kills and eight set assists with Rylee Hooftallen adding two kills and four digs and Angeline Watson a pair of aces.
REDBANK VALLEY 3, MONITEAU 0
WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Josie Rupp had nine kills and three aces to help visiting Redbank Valley to a 3-0 (25-6, 25-11, 25-19) win over Moniteau.
Emily Gourley added seven kills, three blocks and three aces for the 3-0 Lady Bulldogs who also got 14 set assists and six aces from Carissa Rearick and five aces from freshman Montana Hetrick.
SLIPPERY ROCK 3, KARNS CITY 2
KARNS CITY, Pa. – Despite strong matches from Emily Hegedus and Makayla Waltman, Karns City dropped a 3-2 (25-18, 26-24, 20-25, 16-25, 16-14) decision to visiting Slippery Rock.
Hegedus had eight kills for the Lady Gremlins with Waltman adding seven. Rayna Miller chipped in with four kills, and Alyssa Stitt had 24 set assists.
BOYS’ SOCCER
DUBOIS 3, BROOKVILLE 0
BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Seth Braid had a goal and an assist and Alex Gribik had a pair of assists to lead visiting DuBois to a 3-0 win over Brookville.
Nolan Bussell gave the Beavers a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal off a pass from Gribik, and then DuBois scored twice after the break with Braid netting a tally off a Gribik pass and then feeding Nico McDonald for a goal.
BROCKWAY 4, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0
BROCKWAY, Pa. – Four different Brockway players scored to help the Rovers to a 4-0 win over visiting DuBois Central Catholic.
Zane Puhala, Linkin Nichols, Santino Inzana and Carter Adams all connected on goals for the Rovers, while Austin Moore recorded the shutout in net.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
PORT ALLEGANY 7, SMETHPORT 0
Port Allegany, Pa. – Cailey Barnett and Brianna Roys each scored a goal while combing to shutout visiting Smethport in a 7-0 Port Allegany win.
Barnett and Roys were two of the seven goal scorers for the Lady Gators.
Also finding the back of the net for Port Allegany were Emma Fox, Shaylee Caulkins, Julia Young, Autumn Freer and Leah Garzel.
RIDGWAY 2, KANE 0
KANE, Pa. – Jovana Marzell and Madeline Cowan each scored to help Ridgway move to 4-0 on the year with a 2-0 win at Kane.
BELLEFONTE 6, CLEARFIELD 1
BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Maddie Morelli had the hat trick to lead Bellefonte to a 6-1 win over visiting Clearfield.
BROCKWAY 7, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0
BROCKWAY, Pa. – Chanell Britten had another hat trick, as Brockway rolled past visiting DuBois Central Catholic, 7-0.
Lead Lindemuth, Morgan Lindemuth, Morrigan Decker and Taylor Little each added goals for the Lady Rovers.
BROOKVILLE 2, KEYSTONE 1
KNOX, Pa. – Madisyn Wolfe and Megan Mealy scored first-half goals to lift visiting Brookville to a 2-1 win at Keystone.
Jessica Cotton had a goal off a Kelsey Bish assist for Keystone. Jessi Phillippi made 20 saves for the Lady Panthers.
