Seton-La Salle too much for Cranberry boys

BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. – Despite 10 points from Jacob Creighton, District 9 runner-up Cranberry was no match for WPIAL runner-up Seton-La Salle with the Berries dropping a 70-32 decision in the opening round of the PIAA Class AA boys’ basketball playoffs Saturday afternoon at Chartiers Valley High School.

Ryan Norkus bucketed 20 for the winners while Christian DelGreco had 16.

Cranberry trailed 23-7 at the end of the first quarter and despite a solid second quarter that saw the Berries outscored Seton-La Salle 16-13, they still trailed 36-23 at halftime.

Any thoughts of a second-half comeback were quickly vanquished in a third quarter that saw the team from the Pittsburgh suburbs outscored Cranberry 22-2.

Evan Lutz added eight points for Cranberry, while Janco Swart had six.
