MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The PIAA Sunday announced site, time and date selections for the PIAA football, volleyball and soccer playoffs, and that is coupled with District 9 announcing its Class 1A football championship game information.
FOOTBALL
In football, four District 9 teams are still competing with Karns City and Clarion in the PIAA playoffs and Ridgway and Curwensville still in the District 9 postseason.
Karns City will take on Sharon in the PIAA Class 3A first round at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Clarion University’s Memorial Stadium.
Clarion will travel to Windber High School outside of Johnstown to square off with Chestnut Ridge at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17, in the first round of the PIAA Class 2A playoffs.
Ridgway and Curwensville will meet for the District 9 Class 1A title at 7 p.m. Friday at DuBois’ E.J. Mansell Stadium.

VOLLEYBALL
Clarion is the single District 9 volleyball team still playing, and the Lady Cats will take on Maplewood in the PIAA Class 1A semifinals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Slippery Rock High School. See the bracket.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Brockway is the lone District 9 boys’ soccer team still alive with the Rovers playing Cardinals Wuerl North Catholic in the Class 1A semifinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Slippery Rock High School. See the bracket.
