BLAIRSVILLE — Three District 9 golfers qualified for this year’s PIAA Golf Championships at Tuesday’s Western Regional Tournament held at Tom’s Run Golf Golf Course at Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort.
In Class AAA boys, Bradford’s district champion Mitch Faulkner shot an 80 and finished 11th to make the top-12 cut. In Class AA boys, Clarion’s Jared Bish also shot an 80 and tied for 16th to make the top-22 cut. D9 champion Josh Roselli of Ridgway lost in a four-way playoff for the final state berth.
In Class AA girls, district champion Amber Hess of Keystone shot an 88 and finished ninth to make the top-11 cut.
The 36-hole PIAA Championship will be held Monday and Tuesday at Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center in York.
