FRILLS CORNERS – Venango Catholic’s Devin Zagar scored his 1,000th career point Wednesday night in a 70-62 Viking win at North Clarion Wednesday night.
Zagar needed 25 points to reach the milestone and scored 27 in the game to end the night with 1,002 career tallies. He completed a double-double with 15 rebounds while also blocking three shots.
He is the 11th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and the first since Ben Guth in 2012. Zagar is the fifth Viking to score 1,000 points since Venango Catholic moved to District 9 in 2005 joining all-time leading scorer Maxx Rynd (1,749), Eric Guth (1,258), Alex Eckert (1,156) and Guth (1,049).
