ST. MARYS, Pa. – We’ve had a lot of requests over the last two days about the play that got Coudersport’s Aaron Wolfinger ejected from the Falcons District 9 Class 2A semifinal win over Clarion-Limestone Tuesday night at St. Marys High School.
The sequence in question came early in the fourth quarter with Coudy up 50-43.
Wolfinger, No. 12, is contacted by Clarion-Limestone’s Christian Smith and a block call is whistled on him by referee Kevin Teribery. It was Wolfinger’s fourth foul.
During the dead ball, Coudersport head coach Brian Furman sends a sub in for Wolfinger. As Wolfinger is running off the court and passes his teammate coming in he also passes Teribery and contact is made. Teribery immediately calls Wolfinger for a technical foul and ejects him from the game meaning he is also not eligible for the District 9 title game Saturday vs. Brockway via PIAA by-laws.
Watch the play unfold from basically the start of the fourth quarter until C-L is at the line shooting the technical fouls.
