KANE 51, CURWENSVILLE 46

KANE, Pa. – Kane overcame an early deficit to defeat visiting Curwensville 51-45 in an AML game Friday night at Kane.

The Lady Wolves trailed 14-11 at the end of the first quarter but took a 21-20 halftime lead before outscoring the Golden Tide 30-26 in the second half.

“It was a very good win tonight,” Kane head coach Dave Kiehl said. “It was a hard fought win. Curwensville came in undefeated and was primed to bet us, but our girls battled and played tough defense. It was a very physical game.”

Taylor Morgan paced Kane with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Trinity Clark added 13 points and 19 boards.

Ciara Strickland led all scorers with 18 for Curwensville.

NORTH CLARION 48, CLARION-LIMESTONE 12

FRILLS CORNERS – Freshman Tori Obenrader continued her stellar play early on helping North Clarion move to 5-1 on the young season with a 48-12 pasting of visiting Clarion-Limestone Friday night.

Obenrader scored 19 points and had 13 rebounds for the She-Wolves, who led 19-6 at halftime before outscoring C-L 19-1 in the third quarter. Abbie Schmader added eight tallies.

Josie Stitt led C-L with five points.

SMETHPORT 58, COUDERSPORT 55, OT

COUDERSPORT – Morgan Okerlund hit the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime and also poured in 30 points to lead Smethport to a 58-55 NTL win at Coudersport Friday night.

The team’s, who were tied at 51 at the end of regulation, were tied at 55 late in overtime when Okerlund buried the game-winning shot.

Haley Keck sent the game to overtime with a 3-pointer for Coudersport in the waning seconds of regulation.

Okerlund, who also had 10 rebounds to finish with a double-double, was the lone Lady Hubber to reach double digits but it was enough to offset four players in double digits.

Emily Morey led the Lady Falcons with 17 points, Keck added 15, Tori Crosby had 11 and Allie Easton 10.

The game was tight throughout with Coudersport holding a 15-14 lead after one quarter and 29-23 at halftime.

Smethport answered by tying the gamer with an 11-5 third-quarter advantage to make it 34 all before each team scored 17 points in the fourth quarter.
