CURWENSVILLE 58, HARMONY 50

WESTOVER, Pa. – Thanks to another strong game by Hannah Dixon, Curwensville continued its late-season surge with a 58-50 Moshannon Valley League road win at Harmony that gave the Lady Tide a share of the league title with Glendale.

A day after scoring her 1,000th career point, Dixon netted a game-high 26 points to help Curwensville finish MVL play at 7-1, the same record as Glendale with the teams splitting their two games. It was also the sixth win in the final eight games for the Lady Tide, who started the season with just four wins in their first 14 games.

Madison Weber chipped in 18 points for Curwensville.

Tarra Haver and Lib Rorabaugh led Harmony with 16 points each.

KARNS CITY 64, REDBANK VALLEY 46

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Behind its big three of Emily Hegedus, Alyssa Gibson and Makenzie Craig, Karns City closed out the regular season in style with a 64-46 win at Redbank Valley in KSAC South action.

Hegedus led the Lady Gremlins with 24 points including going 14 of 18 from the free-throw line, while Gibson chipped in 19 tallies and Craig 17.

Lexi Holt led Redbank Valley with 20 points.

PORTVILLE (NY) 45, SMETHPORT 44

PORTVILLE, N.Y. – Despite 32 points from Abbey Woodard, Smethport dropped a 45-44 decision at Portville (N.Y.).

Karly Welty led Portville with 16 points with Sydney Colligan adding 13 points.

BOYS

CURWENSVILLE 73, HARMONY 48

WESTOVER, Pa. – Devon Barrett scored 24 points to pace Curwensville to a season-ending 73-48 win at Harmony.

Josh Terry added 16 points with Zach Marshall chipping in 14.
