COUDERSPORT 66, CLARION 44

CLARION, Pa. – Visiting Coudersport wasted little time in making another statement that it is the team to beat in District 9 Class 2A racing out to a 15-point halftime lead on its way to a 66-44 win at Clarion in a rare midweek North Tier League vs. KSAC matchup.

The unbeaten Falcons used an 18-8 second-quarter advantage to build a 35-20 halftime lead and never let the Bobcats into the game in the second half.

Jared Green scored seven of his game-high 20 points in the second quarter and finished with a double-double by adding 14 rebounds.

Green talked about the victory.

Aaron Wolfinger helped Coudersport to a quick start, the Falcons led 17-12 at the end of a quarter, scoring 10 of Coudy’s 17 points in the opening quarter on his way to 14 tallies.

Owen Chambers added 11 points, Derek Keglovits 10 points and nine rebounds and Hunter Ricke eight points for Coudy, which has secured the top seed in the upcoming District 9 Class 2A playoffs.

Cam Craig led Clarion with 11 points with Austin Hummell chipping in eight.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 69, BROOKVILLE 28

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Gabe Kraus led a trio of Elk County Catholic players in double figures, as the Crusaders easily handled visiting Brookville, 69-28, to win the D9 League title.

Nate DaCanal chipped in 11 point for ECC, who also took home the AML North crown early this season, while Frank Singer chipped in with 10.

ECC led 22-6 after a quarter and 43-15 at halftime.

Nick Keth had eight points to lead Brookville.

JOHNSONBURG 50, SHEFFIELD 44

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Visiting Johnsonburg used a balanced scoring effort in the fourth quarter to pull away from Sheffield, 50-44, in AML action.

The Rams led by just a point, 42-41, going to the final eight minutes but got points from four different players to outscored the Wolverines 8-3 in the quarter.

Ryan Kilhoffer led Johnsonburg with 18 points.

Roger Dunham paced Sheffield with 15 points on five 3-pointers with Drew Higby adding 14 points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots. Austin Simmer had seven assists. The Wolverines trailed 26-21 at halftime but outscored the Rams 20-16 in the third quarter.

CURWENSVILLE 59, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 53

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Behind 18 points from Devon Barrett, Curwensville knocked off visiting DuBois Central Catholic, 59-53, in AML play.

Josh Terry added 14 points for the Golden Tide.

Austen Cogley paced DCC with 14 points.

KANE 42, BROCKWAY 35

KANE, Pa. – Andrew Bucheit had 18 points and 18 rebounds to help Kane rally to a 42-35 home AML victory over Brockway.

The Wolves got behind 10 early, 18-8 after a quarter, but clawed back to within three, 24-21, by halftime. They then outscored the Rovers 21-11 in the second half.

Hunter Miller led Brockway with 11 points.

DUBOIS 67, BRADFORD 47

DUBOIS, Pa. – Behind a monster game from Nick LaBrasca, DuBois flew past visiting Bradford, 67-47, in D9 League action.

LaBrasca had a career-high 34 points to go with 17 rebounds in the Beavers win. Kenny Garvey added 10 points and 12 boards for DuBois with Alex Beers chipping in 12 points.

Steve Knowlton paced Bradford with 11 points.
