10-4 ROUNDUP: Karns City Volleyball Sweeps Rival Moniteau; Keystone, Union Also Earn Wins

KARNS CITY, Pa. (EYT/D9) – Ashley Fox had seven kills, 16 digs and two aces and Rosie Carden also had a big night with five kills, 13 assists, eight digs and five aces as the Karns City volleyball team swept Moniteau, 25-18, 27-25, 25-19, Monday night.

Emma Johns contributed four kills, eight assists, two digs and two aces to the Gremlins’ cause. Ava Fox and Natalie Hess each had five kills, Amber Maurer three kills, seven digs and three aces, and Jessica Dunn five digs and four aces for Karns City.

Union 3, Mercer 0 – Dominika Logue had eight kills, five digs and four aces and Keira Croyle pitched in 10 assists and four aces in the Damsels’ 25-13, 26-24, 25-14 sweep.

Hailey Kriebel had four kills, Allie Conner six aces and five digs and Kennedy Vogle eight digs for Union.

Keystone 3, Oil City 0 – Sydney Bell had another strong overall match for the Panthers with 10 service points, two aces, two blocks and four kills in the 26-16, 25-23, 25-14 sweep of the Oilers.

Leah Exley had a team-leading 11 kills and Kennedy Kaye eight digs for Keystone.

Alyssa Weaver had 13 assists and seven service points for the Panthers (5-3), who host Union Tuesday night.

Boys Soccer

Lathan Price and Jacob Callihan each scored a pair of goals as the Karns City boys soccer team rolled to an 8-0 win over DuBois Central Catholic on Monday.

Mallick Metcalfe, Dane King, Colson Ritzert and Seth Bishop also scored for the Gremlins.

Callihan, Ritzert, Adam Smith and Myles McCully had assists.

Karns City play at West Shamokin Wednesday.
