12-22 ROUNDUP: Moniteau Bounces Back With Road Win Over Cranberry

CRANBERRY, Pa. (EYT/D9) – Following a disappointing home loss to Brockway Monday night, the Moniteau girls basketball team needed something positive to carry into the Christmas break.

The Warriors got it at Cranberry Wednesday night.

Catherine Kelly scored 14 points and also had eight rebounds to lead a balanced attack that produced a 54-13 win.

Moniteau opened the game on an 18-2 run and led 28-4 at the half. That lead swelled to 34 points at the end of the third quarter against a young and rebuilding Berries’ team.

Davina Pry added 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks and Victoria Pry, the only senior in a starting lineup that features four sophomores, pitched in eight rebounds.

Abbey Jewart also scored nine points for the Warriors.

NORTH CLARION 55, A-C VALLEY 15 – Emma McFarland and Gwen Siegel each scored 10 points as the Wolves spread out the scoring in a road win at the Falcons.

Ten players scored for North Clarion. Maddison McFarland added eight and Lauren Lutz seven for the Wolves, who jumped out to a 24-6 lead after the first quarter.

Baylee Blauser paced A-C Valley with six points.
