5/11/18 Softball Wrap: Thomas Leads Otto-Eldred Past Coudersport Powered by Knox Country Farm Supply

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Camryn Thomas drove in 4 runs to lead Otto-Eldred to a 7-2 win over visiting Coudersport.

Thomas was 2-for-3 including a bases-loaded, bases-clearing double in the first.

Harlee VanScooter added a triple and a sac fly in the game.

Alyssa Shelander got the win allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. She struck out nine.

Shaelyn Black (1 hit, 3 walks) and Maddie Smith (6 hits, 7 strikeouts) pitched for Coudersport.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 11, ALTOONA 0, 5 INNINGS

ALTOONA, Pa. – Riley Presloid went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs and Kylee Lingenfelter threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead visiting Punxsutawney to an 11-0, 5 inning win over Altoona.

Lingenfelter walked one and struck out 12.

Toya Jones and Abby Gigliotti each added two hits for the Lady Chucks.

CAMERON COUNTY 8, GALETON 0

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Laila Smith threw a 3-hit shutout and also drove in a pair of runs to lead Cameron County to an 8-0 win over visiting Galeton.

Smith didn’t walk a batter and struck out four while going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Amily Schatz and Ashlea Burgett each hit home runs for the Lady Raiders.

Schatz was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored with Ashlea Burgett going 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Taylor Britton was also 2-for-3 with a run scored.

CLARION 13, CRANBERRY 3, 5 INNINGS

CLARION, Pa. – Freshman Brenna Campbell had three extra-base hits and four RBIs as Clarion stunned visiting Cranberry, 13-3 in five innings.

Campbell was 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and a run scored.

Winning pitcher Sadie Rudesyle added three RBIs while going 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. She also gave up three runs, two earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out seven.

Maya Thornton added a triple, a walk and two runs scored in the win with Kait Constantino going 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs. Alexis Constantino added two hits, a run scored and an RBI and MacKenzie DiTullio and Liz Saver each had a hit and two runs scored.

Andrea Watson had a pair of hits, a stolen base and a run scored for Cranberry.

Watson took the loss going ⅔ of an inning allowing 3 runs on four hits while striking out one. Natalie Barcinas gave up five runs on two hits and four walks while striking out two in an inning of work.

JOHNSONBURG 7, REDBANK VALLEY 1

RIDGWAY, Pa. – Winning pitcher Maria Jones helped herself with three extra-base hits to help Johnsonburg to a 7-1 win over visiting Redbank Valley at Sandy Beach Field in Ridgway.

Jones was 3-for-3 with two doubles and a triple. She drove in two and scored twice.

In the circle, Jones allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out five.

Alyssa Kasmierski added two hits, including a double, while scoring once and driving in two with Jordan Bundy going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Brooke Holben had an RBI for Redbank Valley with Kaia Rearick doubling and scoring.

Dakota Hetrick took the loss allowing seven runs, six earned, on 10 hits and two walks while striking out nine. She also hit a batter.

PORT ALLEGANY 19, OSWAYO VALLEY 4, 4 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Mackenzie Burr went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and four RBIs to lead Port Allegany to a 19-4, 4 inning win over visiting Oswayo Valley.

Hannah Lathrop also smacked a 3-run home run for the Lady Gators with Jenna Sprankle hitting a two-run inside-the-park home run. Autumn Freer chipped in a 3-run triple and Cailey Barnett was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Macy West was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Oswayo Valley with Caitlin Pease going 2-for-2 with an RBI and Kelsey Turk going 2-for-2.

Burr got the win allowing four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five.

Karina West took the loss giving up 15 hits and six walks while striking out six.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 15, BRADFORD 0, 3 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Josie Smith drove in a pair of runs to help Elk County Catholic to a 15-0, 3-inning win over visiting Bradford.

Smith was 1-for-1 with a walk and two runs scored.

Maggie Dinsmore added a double and was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Crusaders.

Maddie Taylor and Sady VanAlstine each added two hits for ECC.

Taylor was 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI with VanAlstine going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Jenna Weisner also hit a home run and scored twice for ECC.

Michelle Gerber through a three-inning no-hitter to get the win.
