9-13 ROUNDUP: North Clarion Boys Cross Country Runners Place 1-2-3 Against Clarion; Redbank Valley Boys Earn Big Soccer Win Over Brockway

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Aiden Thomas, Kaine McFarland and Gabriel Fair finished 1-2-3 to lead the North Clarion boys cross country team against Clarion.

North Clarion’s Katie Bauer won the girls race with a time of 23:06.

The meet was not scored because neither team had enough runners.

BOYS SOCCER

Owen Clouse scored two goals as Redbank Valley doubled-up Brockway, 4-2.

Owen Harmon and Jordan Smith also scored goals for the Bulldogs (5-0).

Dylan Bash and Johnny Knox scored goals for Brockway.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 10, DuBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0 — Bailee Verdill continued his torrid goal-scoring pace with five more as the Lions rolled.

Brendan Bettwy and Danny Schweitzer each added two goals and Brady Pierce also found the net for C-L.

GIRLS SOCCER

Delayne Fremer, Paris Stern and Amanda Decker each scored first-half goals as Brockway downed Redbank Valley, 3-1.

Keira McGuire had the lone goal for the Bulldogs.

VOLLEYBALL

Kyler Freeman had a big night for North Clarion with 12 kills as the Wolves swept Union, 25-14, 25-23, 25-19.

Makenzie Lupole had 10 digs for North Clarion.

Allie Lawrence led Union with three aces.

A-C VALLEY 3, FOREST 0 — Lexi Ruckdeschel, Bella Ielase and Mackenzie Parks combined for 12 kills as the Falcons’ routed the Fires, 25-7, 25-4, 25-11.

Parks also pitched in seven aces for A-C Valley with Jenna Stefanacci added 12 assists.

CRANBERRY 3, MONITEAU 0 — Ayanna Ferringer put up 10 kill and Brooke Hart pitched in seven kills and three aces for the Berries in a 25-10, 25-10, 25-23 sweep.

Marissa Pry had five aces and two kills and Sophia Tennent four digs, two kills and two aces for Moniteu.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 3, CLARION-LIMESTONE 0 — Ciara Toven had eight kills and four aces to lead the Chucks to a 25-14, 25-19, 25-9 sweep of the Lions.

Samantha Griebel added seven kills and three aces.

Ansley Burke paced Clarion-Limestone with nine kills.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3, KANE 0 — Madison Marzullo had 10 kills, four aces and two blocks to lead the Crusaders to a 25-8, 25-9, 25-19 sweep.

Tori Newton pitched in 10 kills for ECC.

GIRLS GOLF

Emma Covert shot a 45 to win medalist honors as the Moniteau girls golf team bested Cranberry, 143-155.

Kendall Sankey shot a 47 and Mariska Shunk a 51 for the Warriors.

Alaina Hogue led Cranberry with a 47.
