Balance, Big Third Quarter By Chason Delarosa-Rugg Help Moniteau Get Past Keystone

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. (EYT/D9) — Chason Delarosa-Rugg scored 14 of his game-high 27 points in the third quarter to help the Moniteau boys basketball team erase a halftime deficit on the way to a 70-60 victory over visiting Keystone on Monday night.

Delarosa-Rugg hit four of his five 3-pointers in the third as the Warriors erupted for 24 points in the frame, erasing the Panthers’ 29-25 lead at the break.

Moniteau was also balanced with four players reaching double figures.

Aydan Jackson scored 14 points, Andrew Zepeda 13 and David Dessicino 10 for the Warriors.

Drew Keth led Keystone with 19 points.

Eli Nellis added 15 and Aiden Patrick 14 for the Panthers.

BROOKVILLE 46, CLARION 45

Kellan Haines and Jack Pete each scored 15 points and the Raiders held on for a one-point win over the Bobcats.

Brookville led 29-17 at the half.

The Bobcats struggled offensively with no one reaching double figures.

Gabe Simko paced Clarion with eight points.

Devon Lauer, who entered the game needing 14 to reach 1,000 in his career, was held to six. He will need eight to reach the milestone on Wednesday when Clarion takes on Venango Catholic.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lily Homan scored 18 points and North Clarion jumped out to a big halftime lead on the way to a 59-22 win over Union/A-C Valley.

Akeela Greenawalt added 12 points for the Wolves, who raced out to a 45-16 lead at the half. They scored 30 alone in the second quarter, led by 14 from Homan in the frame.

Maddy Dehart scored eight points and also had seven rebounds for Union/A-C Valley.
