CLARION, Pa. – Sadie Rudesyle came within an out of throwing a five-inning no-hitter before settling for a one-hit shutout in a 13-0, five-inning Clarion win over visiting Clarion-Limestone Friday at Paul A. Weaver Park.

Rudesyle gave up a two-out hit to Ori Walters in the top of the fifth before getting Liz Gruver to groundout to third to record her first shutout of the season. Rudesyle walked one and struck out six in the win while also recording a pair of hits and an RBI on offense.
She talked about the victory.
Clarion scored runs in all four of its at-bats including multiple runs in the second, third and fourth innings.
Brenna Campbell had three hits, including a triple, while her courtesy runner (she was the catcher) Ava Kiser scored twice.
Kate Constantino, Carly Best and Maya Thornton joined Rudesyle with two hits each with Constantino, who had a triple, also scoring three times and driving in two, Best scoring three times and driving in one and Thornton scoring twice and driving in three.
Alexis Constantino added a run scored and a pair of RBIs as well.
Meghan Stahlman took the loss for C-L allowing 10 runs, eight earned, on 13 hits and two walks while striking out three in three innings of work.
CRANBERRY 16, KEYSTONE 1, 3 INNINGS
KNOX, Pa. – Andrea Watson drove in five runs to help Cranberry to a season-opening 16-1, three-inning win at Keystone.
Watson was 2-for-4 in the game with a double and two runs scored.
Hannah Duncan added three hits and three runs scored for the Berries with Natalie Barcinas (2 runs, 1 RBI), Libby Kiefer (double, 3 RBIs) and Jenna Huegel (double, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI) all adding a pair of hits.
Barcinas and Watson combined on a three-inning no-hitter with Barcinas going 1 ⅔ innings allowing two walks and a hit batter while striking out three and Watson going 1 ⅓ innings walking one and striking out two.
Cora Black took the loss giving up 14 hits and seven walks while striking out two.
REDBANK VALLEY 9, BROOKVILLE 5
NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Trailing 4-2 going into the bottom of the fourth, Redbank Valley erupted for seven runs on its way to a 9-5 win over Brookville at the New Bethlehem Little League Field.
The Lady Bulldogs sent 12 batters to the plate in the fourth. Brooke Holben singled in two runs, Dakota Hetrick singled in a run, Becca Kunselman doubled in a run and Brynn Rearick capped the scoring with a two-run single.
Rearick had three hits while Holben, Kristen Shaffer, Kaia Rearick and Elaina Miller each had two hits. Hetrick tossed a nine-hitter, striking out six and walking two while hitting three batters.
Aleah Ames singled twice and Lauren Hergert doubled for the Lady Raiders. Pitcher Carlie McManigle struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.
DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 23, UNION 0, 3 INNINGS
DUBOIS, Pa. – Ashley Wruble and Jordan Kosko combined for nine RBIs to help DuBois Central Catholic to a 23-0, three-inning win over visiting Union.
Wruble drove in five while going 3-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored, while Kosko had four RBIs while going 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and two runs scored.
Also for DCC Maia Cogley was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, Shay Gulvas was 2-for-2 with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI, Alyssa Bittner was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, Carley Semancik was 1-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored, Gabby Sabatose was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs and Miah Meholic was 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Wruble got the win giving up one hit and a walk while striking out three in three innings of work.
Frankee Remmick had the lone hit for Union.
KARNS CITY 15, WEST MIDDLESEX 3, 5 INNINGS
KARNS CITY, Pa. – Karns City rode an 8-run first inning to a 15-3, five-inning win over visiting West Middlesex.
Four Lady Gremlins went deep in the game with Kate Allen, Mackenzie Dunn, Alyssa Stitt and Taylor Ekis each hitting home run. Stitt also added a double.
Ekis was 3-for-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored with Stitt going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Dunn was 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs, Allen added two runs scored and two RBIs and Emily Wolfe was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
Logan Byers got the win in relief of Dunn. Byers went 2 ⅔ innings allowing one hit and a walk while striking out two. Dunn pitched 2 ⅓ innings allowing three runs, one earned, on a hit, three walks and a hit batter while striking out one.
JOHNSONBURG 10, BRADFORD 0, 5 INNINGS
BRADFORD, Pa. – Lindsey Kocjancic tossed a three-hitter with eight strikes outs and Isabella Galbo drove in four runs to lift visiting Johnsonburg to a 10-0, five-inning win over Bradford.
Kocjancic walked five in getting the shutout while Galbo was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Alyssa Kasmierski added three extra-base hits with two doubles and a triple and three runs scored for the Ramettes.
Kelsey Jordan, Paige Craig and Rylee Skaggs had hits for Bradford.
Adrienne Angell took the loss allowing seven runs, five earned, on three hits and four walks in an inning of work.
CAMERON COUNTY 17, BROCKWAY 2, 4 INNINGS
EMPORIUM, Pa. – Home runs from Amily Schatz and Laila Smith helped Cameron County roll past visiting Brockway, 17-2, in four innings.
Schatz was 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs, while Smith was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and four runs scored.
Kaelee Bresslin added a double and three RBIs while going 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored for the Lady Raiders with Alyvia McKimm going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI and Ashlea Burgett scoring twice. Kaitlyn Burgett also had a pair of hits and a walk.
Smith got the win allowing two runs on four hits while striking out nine.
Emily Botwright had a hit, an RBI and a run scored for Brockway.
Morgan Lindemuth took the loss allowing 17 runs, 13 earned, on seven hits and 14 walks while striking out one.
CURWENSVILLE 6, PURCHASE LINE 2
COMMODORE, Pa. -Clerissa Cole threw five strong innings of relief to help lift Curwensville to a 6-2 road win over Purchase Line.
Cole didn’t give up a run while allowing five hits and a walk while striking out three in relief of Rachel LeGars, who went two innings allowing two runs on two hits while striking out one.
Mackenzie Anderson had a pair of RBIs for Curwensville while going 2-for-3 at the plate. Keisha Maines scored twice while also going 2-for-3, and Lauren Tozer was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
Morgan Zometsky was 1-for-3 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI for Purchase Line.
Maddie Ober took the loss allowing six runs, five earned, on 10 hits and a walk while striking out 11.
KANE 16, SHEFFIELD 5, 5 INNINGS
KANE, Pa. – Led by three hits from Rachel Danielson, Kane had five players with multiple hits in a 16-5, five-inning win over visiting Sheffield.
Danielson, who was also the winning pitcher, went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs scored and an RBI. She pitched five innings allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits, four walks and a hit batter while striking out two.
Ella Marconi (2-for-4, double, triple, 3 runs scored, 4 stolen bases, 1 RBI), Alyssa Oakes (2-for-4, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI), Katlyn Young (2-for-4, double, 3 RBIs) and Rachel Haight (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) also had multiple-hit games for the Lady Wolves.
Marissa Grubbs paced Sheffield going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Fiate Smith was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI and Emily Leichtenberger went 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI.
Grubbs took the loss allowing 16 runs, five earned, on 13 hits and three walks while striking out five.
ST. MARYS 8, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 3
ST. MARYS, Pa. – Sydney Eckert hit a pair of home runs and drove in four runs to lead St. Marys to an 8-3 win at cross-city rival Elk County Catholic.
Eckert was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Lady Dutch, while Micayla Bothum went 1-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, three runs scored and two RBIs. Maddie LeGrys also added two hits and a run scored for the Lady Dutch.
Brianna Grotzinger got the win in relief of Maura Fledderman. Grotzinger pitched 4 ⅔ innings allowing a run on two hits and three walks while striking out five. Fledderman pitched 2 ⅓ giving up two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three.
Jenna Weisner hit a home run for ECC while going 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Michelle Gerber suffered the loss pitching 3 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
LIGONIER VALLEY 4, PUNXSUTAWNEY 1
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Lexie Petrof went 3-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored to help visiting Ligonier Valley to a 4-1 win over Punxsutawney.
Jane Garver added a pair of hits and an RBI for the visitors, while also throwing five innings of one-hit, one-run ball. She walked three and struck out seven to get the win. Petrof picked up the save going two scoreless innings allowing one hit and a walk while striking out one.
Abby Gigliotti had the lone run for Punxsutawney.
Freshman Kendyl Johnston pitched well in defeat allowing four runs, three earned, on eight hits and two walks while striking out nine.
