DuBois Softball Gets Playoff Win

BASEBALL

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 7, CURWENSVILLE 0

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Thomas Grecco and Noah Bloom combined on a no-hitter and also had five combined hits to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 7-0 win at Curwensville.

Grecco walked two and struck out eight in five innings with Bloom walking two and striking out three in two innings.

Grecco also had two hits and two RBIs with Bloom collecting three hits.

BROOKVILLE 5, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 4, 8 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Tanner Labenne’s sacrifice fly scored Brady Caylor with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Brookville walked off a 5-4 extra-inning win over DuBois Central Catholic, which was playing its second road game in a second location on the day.

The Cardinals, playing their second game of the day after traveling to Curwensville earlier in a 7-0 win, led 4-1 after three innings before the Raiders rallied. Seth Dunkle doubled in two runs with two outs in the fourth inning and Cole Labenne’s single drove in a run to tie it at 4-4 in the fifth inning.

Then in the eighth, Caylor walked with one out and went to third when Dunkle’s sacrifice bunt was misplayed, moving runners up to second and third. After an intentional walk to Aaron Park to load the bases, Tanner Labenne won it with a fly ball to deep center field.

Seth Dunkle, Cole Labenne and Tyler Park each had two hits for the Raiders with one of Dunkle’s hits being a two-run double.

Tyler McIntosh had three hits for the Cardinals.

JOHNSONBURG 10, BRADFORD 2

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Johnny Mitchell had three hits and Ben Freeburg three RBIs to lead Johnsonburg to the 10-2 win over visiting Bradford.

Mitchell got the win going 4 ⅔ innings.

Caleb Nuzzo had two hits for Bradford.

CLARION 13, KEYSTONE 1, 5 INNINGS

KNOX, Pa. – A 10-run second inning helped Clarion to a 13-1, five-inning win at Keystone.

Sterling Conner and Nick Frederick each had three RBIs for the Bobcats with Conner hit a home run.

Logan Sell had two hits, including a double, and a run scored for Keystone.

UNION 9, CLARION-LIMESTONE 2

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Behind three hits from Reice Saylor and two RBIs each from Luke Salvo and Hunter Johnston Union topped Clarion-Limestone, 9-2.

Saylor also got the win going six innings.

Hayden Callen had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for C-L.

DUBOIS 6, MONITEAU 5

BUTLER, Pa. – Despite scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh, Moniteau fell, 6-5, to DuBois at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler.

Eric Schneider and Jordan Frano each had two RBIs for DuBois, which used a five-run sixth to take a 6-0 lead.

Chance Nagy had three hits for Moniteau.

Schneider got the win.

OSWAYO VALLEY 17, GALETON 0, 3 INNINGS

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Scoring 13 runs in the second inning, Oswayo Valley rolled past visiting Galeton, 17-0, in three innings.

Garren Black hit a home run for the Green Wave while driving in three runs. Jacob Karr added three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored with Ryan Graves also collecting three hits.

Graves gave up one hit in three innings to get the win.

COWANESQUE VALLEY 9, SMETHPORT 4

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Seth Huyler drove in four runs to pace a 9-4 Cowanesque Valley win over Smethport.

Nate Hollowell had two hits and two RBIs for the Hubbers.

ST. MARYS 6, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 1

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Tim Beimel and Jared Groll combined to three-hit rival Elk County Catholic in a 6-1 St. Marys win at Berwind Park.

Beimel got a no-decision going 4 ⅔ innings allowing one run on two hits and five walks while striking out seven. Groll pitched 2 ⅓ to get the win allowing a hit while striking out three.

St. Marys broke a 1-all tie with five runs in the fifth.

Jake Meeker had a double and two RBIs for the Dutch with Nate Beimel also driving home a pair of runs.

Dan Wimer had an RBI for ECC.

SOFTBALL

PORT ALLEGANY 21, BRADFORD 6, 5 INNINGS

BRADFORD, Pa. – Lauren Dynda and Autumn Freer each had two hits and three RBIs to help Port Allegany to a 21-6, five-inning win over Bradford.

Alyssa Hardy had two hits and two RBIs for Bradford.

KARNS CITY 12, BROOKVILLE 0, 5 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Mackenzie Dunn and Mackenzie Shay combined on a five-inning no-hitter to lead visiting Karns City to a 12-0 win over Brookville.

Dunn went three innings walking one and striking out five with Shay pitching two innings walking two and striking out three.

Dunn added a triple and three RBIs with Alyssa Stitt getting two hits and three RBIs.

COUDERSPORT 4, CAMERON COUNTY 2

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Chelsey Streich and Rozlyn Page each had two hits to lift Coudersport to a 4-2 win over visiting Cameron County.

Page added an RBI while Claudia Miller had two RBIs and Paiton Whipple scored twice.

Madison Smith got the win.

Kaitlyn Burgett hit a home run and had two RBIs for Cameron County. Alyvia McKimm chipped in three hits and Kaelee Bresslin two hits with a double.

CLARION 13, KEYSTONE 1, 5 INNINGS

KNOX, Pa. – Tori Vega had a triple and three RBIs to help Clarion to a 13-1, five-inning win at Keystone.

Liz Saver, Sadie Rudesyle and Alexis Constantino each drove in two runs while Carly Best had three hits and two runs scored.

Alyssa Dunlap had a double for Keystone.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 11, UNION 1, 5 INNINGS

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Megan Stahlman had two hits and three RBIs to lift Clarion-Limestone to an 11-1, five-inning win over Union.

Megan Schimp chipped in three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lady Lions.

Morgan Cumberland had an RBI for Union.

FOREST AREA/ROCKY GROVE SPLIT

TIONESTA, Pa. – Forest Area and Rocky Grove split a doubleheader at West Forest with the Fires winning 9-8 in the first game and Rocky Grove coming back to win the second game, 19-15.

Winning pitcher Jasmine Ginnery had a pair of hits for Forest Area in the opener with Jen Lander and Caitlyn Boehme each driving in two runs.

Kennedi Winslow paced Rocky Grove with three hits, while Lydia Pederson had two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.

In the second game, Addie Patton had four RBIs for Rocky Grove with Winslow adding three RBIs and two hits.

Mikaya Bellotti and Boehme each had three hits for Forest Area.

REDBANK VALLEY 9, MONITEAU 4

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Behind a three-run home run from Savanna Boyer and three RBIs from Dakota Hetrick, visiting Redbank Valley topped Moniteau, 9-4.

Brooke Holben also had three hits for the Lady Bulldogs, including a double.

Lexi Miller had a pair of hits for Moniteau.

GALETON 4, OSWAYO VALLEY 0

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Scoring a run in the sixth and three in the seventh, visiting Galeton topped Oswayo Valley, 4-0.

Regan Fuller had a home run and three RBIs for Galeton with Makaya Shadle tossing a five-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.

Macy West had a pair of hits, including a double, for Oswayo Valley.
